The Birth and Return of Christ and the Celestial Sphinx

Eleven years ago, in a study on the Try-God.com website we proposed a thesis that the Great Sphinx was originally intended as an oracle of the promised seed and the Messiah. Both Herbert Lockyer and Frances Rolleston have stated, that the Great Sphinx symbolizes the Summer Solstice 4000 years before Christ, sealed by the union of Virgo and Leo. Rolleston notes that this junction of Virgo and Leo is marked by the star Denebola, the namemeaningthe Lord or Judge who comes quickly,”1 thus representing a living image, of the Lord Jesus Christ coming in judgment. As the star marking the unity between Virgo and Leo, the alpha and omega signs of the Biblical zodiac, this prophetic messenger of the coming Messiah has endured as the largest, and oldest colossal sculpture of renown on the planet.

The Great Sphinx
The Great Sphinx

This monument to the promised seed carved out of the Giza plateau, has stood for ages facing east, envisioning both the first and second advents of the Lord Jesus Christ. As the imperious sentinels of Giza, the Great Sphinx and the Great Pyramid are the foremost ancient monuments, having stood the test of time, foreshadowing the Second Coming of the Son of God as no other landmarks in human history. These great surviving wonders of the ancient world have remained singularly poised, high above the barren shifting sands of human ignorance, safely founded on prehistoric bedrock of truth, prophesying of the coming promised seed, in harmony with the witness of the Stars and Scriptures. Their combined declaration sounds out from the geographic center of the Earth’s landmass, ever ringing upward in concert with the testimony of the celestial luminaries. These monolithic monuments of the Giza plateau, the Great Pyramid and the Great Sphinx, serve as prime examples of our thesis, showing the roots of what Joseph Campbell called the world monomyth , the idea that all the world’s myths are rooted in one master overarching epic narrative. I believe as others have before me, that this master myth has celestial roots, and these roots ultimately lead us to the divine Astronomy of the Biblical Patriarchs, Adam, Seth and Enoch. The following introduction to the Great Sphinx, from a Biblical Astronomy viewpoint, will serve as important step along this path of understanding. During recent posts on our Blood Moon Blog we have surveyed the Biblical Astronomy of the heavenly signs surrounding the Birth of Jesus Christ, where a number of aspects linked to the Great Sphinx have surfaced, which are summarized in the study of The Great Sphinx @www. Try-God.com, [read more].

Our review of the heavenly signs surrounding the birth of Christ gave us an introduction to some unique aspects of the Great Sphinx, which we will expand on in this study. A consistent indicator marking the heavenly signs bearing the celestial seal and signet of the Great Sphinx, is that most of these heavenly signs occur during the 3-week annual period when the Sun is clothing Virgo, [Rev. 12:1]. This is relevant due to its symbolism of the genuine exaltation of Mary, the woman who was most highly blessed among women, because she believed the words of the archangel Gabriel when he told her she would bear the promised seed. We have made past references to the dual significance inend times
prophecy
in [Rev. 12:1-2] as it relates both to the sufferings and glory of the Lord Jesus Christ, in his 2-fold ministry to present his kingship to Israel, that was rejected 2000 years ago, and now is being revisited as we complete the Blood Moon Tetrad of 20142015 with the heavenly signs presaging his glorious Second Coming to install his kingdom of everlasting righteousness and peace. The graphic below depicts Mary crowned with the 12 Stars/Tribes of the Hebrew Zodiac [Gen. 37: 9-11] holding the infant Jesus, with the Crescent Moon at her feet. Here Jesus embodies the Sun clothing Virgo with the Moon at her feet as seen on Sept. 11th, 3 BC in the heavenly signs marking the Birth of Jesus Christ. Modern stargazers have struggled to fit the crown of 12 stars around Virgo’s head, with the heavenly signs marking his birth and Second Coming, but as Gen. 37 tells us in Joseph’s dream, the Sun, Moon and 11 Stars bowed down to Joseph as his 11 brothers bowed at his feet in Egypt, fulfilling his dream. Both the Great Sphinx and Joseph’s Dream show the 3-fold Solar, Lunar and Stellar aspects of the Hebrew Calendar, and as we view Virgo Crowned with the 12 Stars/Signs/Tribes of the Hebrew Zodiac in the context of the Great Sphinx, the truths of the Celestial Sphinx come into focus.

Figure B.  Mary Crowned with 12 Stars holding Jesus with the Moon at her feet.

In addition, the Sun in Virgo usually coincides with the annual start of the Hebrew Civil Year, opening the month of Tishri. As we have pointed out in recent Blog posts, the Feast of Trumpets opening the month of Tishri is marked by a Partial Solar Eclipse on September 13th this Fall, even as the opening of the sacred year/Nisan 1 is marked with a Total Solar Eclipse on March 20th, the Spring Equinox, followed by a Blood Moon Lunar eclipse two weeks later at Passover. Thus from the inception of the heavenly signs linked to what I have called the Celestial Sphinx, the fact that these notable heavenly signs take place on, or during Hebrew Feasts and holy days, is also a key indicator, even as it has been throughout the Age of Grace relating to the Blood Moon Tetrads, over the last 200 centuries. Another prime aspect of the heavenly signs linked to the Celestial Sphinx is that we find unique planetary conjunctions that took place marking the Birth of Jesus Christ, in the constellations Virgo and Leo. Since these are the zodiac signs that constitute the alpha-omega signs of the Hebrew Zodiac, forming the Celestial Sphinx, it provides a living practical example of Biblical Astronomy which the Great Sphinx itself memorializes. As a central example of Biblical Archaeo-Astronomy, the Great Sphinx is a true living artifact of the divine science of Biblical Astronomy that the Creator utilizes today, marking the heavenly signs of the Second Coming of His only Begotten Son. In this light, we take note of the relief from the ceiling of the Temple of Esneh;2 [Fig. C], where the basic stellar figures of Virgo and Leo are unified in the Great Sphinx, pictured with the solar disk crowning the head of the woman-“sun clothing Virgo,” who is joined with the body of the Lion, above the serpent Hydra. This clear stellar image found at the same temple site housing the Dendera zodiac, provides strong archaeological support, not for the union of Virgo and Leo only, affirmed in the two stellar aspects of the Sphinx monument, but also the exaltation of the woman-Virgo. She is pictured at the far right below, prominently holding her grain stalk, or branch [Al Zimach] as she is shown in Dendera’s zodiac, symbolizing her bearing the promised seed, the light of the world. This is a key point in the history of Biblical Archaeo-Astronomy, since the Dendera Zodiac is another central piece of archeological evidence in our Biblical Astronomy narrative. This will be the topic of future posts on our Blood Moon Blog.

This sets the basic context of the original function of the Great Sphinx, including:

  • The unity of the Biblical zodiac which starts at Virgo and ends in Leo, summarizing the truths of Biblical Astronomy and Archaeo-Astronomy.
  • The original role of the Sun in this context of “clothing Virgo,” along with embodying the solar aspects of the Sphinx as the Son of Righteousness.
  • A Stone monument memorializing these truths parallel witness to the Coming Redeemer found in the Stars and in Scripture.

With this in mind, lets look at some specific stellar aspects of the Great Sphinx.

Stellar Elements of the Great Sphinx

There are at least three categories of Celestial Sphinx signs. The first is in a class by itself, that we find in Figure E. Here, the head of the woman Virgo, clothed with the sun is rising above the horizon as seen from Jerusalem, with the full body of Leo the Lion, already risen. As a marker for the birth of Christ highlighting these two major components of the Great Sphinx, this sign certainly is worthy of our special attention. A second category of signs along these lines is seen also when the Sun is clothing Virgo. During this time of year, a period of about 20 days length, if planetary unions occur in both Leo and Virgo, the two stellar aspects of the Celestial Sphinx are thus highlighted. An example of this was seen in the signs surrounding the birth of Christ, from September 9th to the 14th in 3 BC. Figure E shows the first of three conjunctions of Jupiter and Regulus in Leo first visible, as the heavenly signs marking the birth of Christ took place  September 11th, in Virgo. The original teaching of the witness of the signs of the zodiac is encapsulated in the zodiac signs Virgo and Leo and preserved in this ancient monument of the Giza plateau, the Great Sphinx. An interesting astronomical truth in support of this lies in the fact that the crowned head of Virgo actually bridges about 10 degrees into the sign Leo on the ecliptic. We have already made reference to this in connection with the star Denebola. The star Sarcam in Leo, is a Hebrew word meaning “the joining,“3 identifying the point where the two ends of the Zodiacal circle have their joining. This is borne out in the sign Corvus, the bird of prey devouring the sea-monster Hydra, a decan of Virgo. The bright star in the eye of Corvus the Raven, called Al Chibar in Arabic means “joining together,”4 referring also to the union of as these two ends of the true zodiac! This is pictured in Figure D. below, depicting the Hydra a major sea-dragon constellation [Isa. 27:1], with Corvus the Raven and carrion eater, shown devouring the perishing remains of the destroyed Serpent. This is the enemy’s destiny which we also find pictured in the Temple of Esneh above, with the serpent under the Lion’s claws.

This also fits with the start of the Hebrew calendar in Tishri, the equivalent of our September-October, the beginning of their civil year when the Sun was clothing Virgo. As we have seen in previous posts, the heavens announced Jesus’ arrival with the setting of the star Spica, Virgo’s branch on our September 11th, of 3 BC. In addition to naming the start and close of the celestial canon, the Great Sphinx mirrors the binding of Scripture together from Genesis to Revelation, as seen in references to Jesus as the Lion of the tribe of Judah in both Gen. 49:8-10 and Rev. 5:5, the first and last books of the Bible. Another indicator of the central importance of these stellar aspects of the Great Sphinx, is that our recognition of the Celestial Sphinx, pictured below, Virgo and Leo the lion provide the basis for the signs of the triple union of Jupiter-Regulus in Leo, in 3 BC related to Gen. 49:8-10. This is a foundational key linking the Great Sphinx both to the witness of the stars and Scriptures, in their unified testimony to the Coming promised Seed. As we view the celestial context of this first union of Jupiter and Regulus, [Fig. E] we can see the head of Virgo rising above the eastern horizon just below the full body of Leo the Lion on the ecliptic. This is the view of what an observer standing near Palestine facing east would have seen on this date, providing a clear aspect of the astronomical symbolism of the Celestial Sphinx as an important marker and monumental prediction of Jesus’ birthday on September 11th, a prophecy of the birth of Christ preserved in stone from antiquity! Thus, the Great Sphinx stands as Giza’s defiant sentinel, having weathered hundreds of centuries as a witness and messenger of both the canon of the celestial scroll of God’s Word engraved in the heavens, a prophesy of the birth of the Son of God. Always facing east, the Great Sphinx anticipates the truth of the Son-rise of the ages, whose eastern light is the long awaited dawning of a new day for all Mankind. As the subject of our last two February posts, this Eastern light through the Tabernacle is reflected spiritually in the Tabernacle/ Temple ministry that Jesus Christ fulfilled as the High Priest after the order of Melchizedek, even as we see it in the Creator’s celestial order, as the Sun travels its annual path through the 12 houses of the ecliptic, daily rising in the east. This is a theme that arises again in relation to The Celestial Symbolism of the Tabernacle and Temple of Israel, [read more] This serves as a monolithic marker to the prophecy provided in Rev. 12:1-5, in the sign of Virgo, further establishing the dual significance of this prophecy foretelling of the First and Second Advents of the Lord Jesus Christ.

Figure E. The Celestial Sphinx.

The Head of the Woman and the Body of the Lion as seen on Sept. 14th, 3 BC, on the eastern horizon from Palestine, forming the aspects of the Celestial Sphinx, marking the first Jupiter-Regulus Conjunction in Leo.

head of a woman and body of a lion

We find these landmarks at the head and tail of the zodiac, which adds light to Dr. Martin’s observation that: “the woman Virgo is the Constellation of Headship for all twelve signs. The head position of Virgo is located within the last 10 degrees of Leo.” Virgo’s head is seen in Fig. D, just below and adjacent to the star Denebola in the tail of the Lion, unifying the circle of the zodiac. When viewed in context with the witness of the Great Sphinx, this sign on 9-14-3 BC takes on added meaning, indicated in the Sphinx’ two basic elements. These two elements are detailed in the movement of the King planet Jupiter entering Leo, the lion-body of the celestial Sphinx, while the Sun was in Virgo, the female head of this Sphinx. As the stars are allowed to speak in harmony with this witness in stone, the solitary guardian of the Giza plateau anticipates the dawning of a new day for mankind, as it predicts the birth of Spica, Virgo’s promised seed. Thus, the Great Sphinx and the Great Pyramid stand, as oracles, monumental prophets of both the Alpha and Omega, the first and second advents of Jesus Christ, revealing both his sufferings and glory. These stellar aspects of the Sphinx, are reinforced by the picture of the eastern horizon during the early morning hours of September 14th, at the time of the first Jupiter-Regulus union. This distinct star picture of the Head of the woman Virgo rising above the horizon, with the body of the lion above, initiating the first of 3 Jupiter-Regulus unions, aligning the prophecy of the stars with the Scriptural prophecy of Genesis 49:8-10 is definitive evidence for our thesis. This triple conjunction of Jupiter-Regulus in Leo was bracketed by the two Jupiter-Venus conjunctions also in Leo between August 31st, 3 BC and June 17th 2 BC. This June 17th, 2 BC conjunction of  Jupiter and Venus the bright and Morning Star, was a most notable and attention grabbing heavenly sign marking the birth of Christ.

Figure F. Leo the Lion

Leo The Lion

The major signs marking the birth of Christ on September 11th 3 BC, are not only sealed with this triple union of Jupiter-Regulus in Leo, but also by this singular Jupiter-Venus conjunction in Leo on June 17th of 2 BC. In addition the greater majority of heavenly signs marking the birth of Christ were bracketed by 2 Jupiter-Venus unions inand 1 BC.  The first Jupiter-Venus Conjunction marking the birth of Christ took place on August 31st 3 BC, in Leo with the last one occurring on August 21st 1 BC, in Virgo. Here we find an interesting variation on a Celestial Sphinx sign highlighting planetary conjunctions of Jupiter-Venus, that took place during the first fulfillment the Rev. 12:1-2 prophecy relating to the sufferings of Christ in his ministry as the Passover Lamb. This alerts us that we should look for similar Celestial Sphinx signs as a precursor to the Lord’s Second Coming. The fact that there were also two Venus-Mars conjunctions bracketing the central Jupiter-Venus union between  March 31st, 2BC and Dec. 9th, 2BC, marking the birth of Christ, sets a precedent that we will see in similar fashion leading up to the Lord’s glorious Second Coming.  In this light, it is with great interest that we discover between the two Venus-Mars conjunctions of 2015, that 3 Jupiter-Venus conjunctions will occur in Leo, followed by Jupiter-Venus conjunctions in Virgo in both 2016 and 2017.

The following dates will see Jupiter-Venus conjunctions in Leo in this Hebrew Jubilee year of 2015:

June 30th, 2015
August 25th, 2015
October 26th, 2015

The following dates below, will see Jupiter-Venus conjunctions in Virgo in 2016-2017:

July 27th, 2016
Feb. 26th, 2017
Nov. 13th, 2017

These modern heavenly signs of the Celestial Sphinx are manifesting before our eyes in the last days leading to the victorious Second Coming of the Lord Jesus Christ, informing us in no un certain terms that the end is near. As the rewind of heavenly signs of Christ Jesus’ first appearance on earth occur in the context of the present day Blood Moon Tetrad, including the upcoming Passover Blood Moon on April 4th, the celestial warnings of the Second Coming are undeniable to those with eyes to see and ears to hear… Are you ready?

Eastern Light Through the Hebrew Tabernacle [Part I.]

The Sun of Righteousness Arising

Eastern Light Through the Hebrew Tabernacle [Part I.]

The Victorious Return of the Lord Jesus Christ will shine upon humanity like no other light before. This has been prophesied not only in Scripture, but also in the celestial epistles. A third package of divine revelation includes the sacred blueprints of the Hebrew Tabernacle and the Jerusalem Temples beginning with King Solomon’s. A basic pattern emerges involving these plans for Israel’s Temple and Tabernacle as divine architectural expressions of the gospel of the Coming Redeemer-Jesus Christ, serving as a sacred architectural fulcrum between the witness of the stars and God’s written Scriptures. This is the subject of our current study in Biblical Astronomy as it relates to the glorious second coming of the Lord Jesus Christ. In our previous Blog post [read more] we focused on the Venus-Mars planetary conjunctions of 2015, and how they frame the crescendo of the Blood Moon Tetrad of 2014-2015. We drew some comparisons to the heavenly signs surrounding the Birth of Christ in 3-2 BC, which we will pick-up again in this post. We find an important passage of Scripture to get us started in Matthew 24.

Matthew 24:27-36

27 For as the lightning cometh out of the east, and shineth even unto the west; so shall also the coming of the Son of man be.

28 For wheresoever the carcase is, there will the eagles be gathered together. 29 Immediately after the tribulation of those days shall the sun be darkened, and the moon shall not give her light, and the stars shall fall from heaven, and the powers of the heavens will be shaken:  30 And then shall appear the sign of the Son of man in heaven: and then shall all the tribes of the earth mourn, and they shall see the Son of man coming in the clouds of heaven with power and great glory. 31 And he shall send his angels with a great sound of a trumpet, and they shall gather together his elect from the four winds, from one end of heaven to the other.

32 Now learn a parable of the fig tree; When his branch is yet tender, and putteth forth leaves, ye know that summer is nigh: 33 So likewise ye, when ye shall see all these things, know that it is near, even at the doors34 Verily I say unto you, This generation shall not pass, till all these things be fulfilled35 Heaven and earth shall pass away, but my words shall not pass away36 But of that day and hour knoweth no man, no, not the angels of heaven, but my Father only.

As Matthew tells us in verse 27, the light of the Lord’s Second Coming will shine from the east to the west. It is known that the Temple was also constructed on this East-West axis, and that the light of sunrise would shine into the Temple’s doors between the great brass pillars at the Temple’s entrance, known as Jachin and Boaz. When we take into account the Solar Eclipse taking place on the Hebrew Feast and holy day-Nisan 1, the opening of the Ecclesiastical Year on the Spring Equinox, March 20th, 2015 along with a Solar eclipse on the Feast of Trumpets, Sept. 13th, 2015 opening the civil year within a week of the Fall Equinox, dividing the year according to these sacred days of the Hebrew Calendar, we can see the Almighty marking this east-west axis, as the Light of the Sun is eclipsed by the Moon on both key days. The truth that these heavenly signs occur during a Hebrew Jubilee Year, also opening on Nisan 1 makes it even more compelling, combined with Blood Moons on both Passover and the feast of Tabernacles, capping off the Blood Moon Tetrad in 2015. These Blood Moons of 2015 are the last ones to occur on Hebrew feast and holy days over the next 500 years.  The temporal pattern of the Blood Moon Tetrads during the last 200 centuries of the Age of Grace have exhibited a septenary pattern of the Hebrew Feast and holy days seen in the Hebrew Calendar, reflected also in the Hebrew Menorah; [read more]. We can also see this pattern in other architectural elements of the Hebrew Tabernacle and Temple. The Jerusalem Temple Doors were framed by two huge brass pillars, called Jachin and Boaz, that are described in I Kings 7. We should notice the Biblical figure of speech pertaining to many ands,” emphasizing each element found between the connective “and,” starting in verse 13;

1 Ki 7:13 And king Solomon sent and fetched Hiram out of Tyre.[14] He was a widow’s son of the tribe of Naphtali, and his father was a man of Tyre, a worker in brass: and he was filled with wisdom, and understanding, and cunning to work all works in brass. And he came to king Solomon, and wrought all his work. [15] For he cast two pillars of brass, of eighteen cubits high apiece: and a line of twelve cubits did compass either of them about.

For greater details on the celestial and mathematical implications of the measurements of these two pillars please see our study on “Pi in the Sky@try-god.com. [read more]

I Kings 7:16 And he made two chapiters of molten brass, to set upon the tops of the pillars: the height of the one chapiter was five cubits, and the height of the other chapiter was five cubits: 17 And nets of checker work, and wreaths of chain work, for the chapiters which were upon the top of the pillars; seven for the one chapiter, and seven for the other chapiter.

“checker”- *H7639 [sebakah]– This shows a lattice work around the capitals of these pillars. The etymology of the word Balustrade [set of small pillars supporting a handrail] is from the Italian “balaustro;” a wild pomegranate flower,1 notable for its seven petals, as in the next verse. With each capital bearing seven chains of pomegranates totaling fourteen in all, the numerical symbolism of these pillars relates to the septenary blueprint of the Temple itself, comprised of 14 squares of 10 cubits each. We have seen prior evidence of the divine pattern of the number seven, as it highlights the temporal structure of the Creation week and the Feast of Weeks, [7×7 weeks] unto Pentecost in the 50th week. We also see the same pattern in 7×7 years, leading into the 50th year of Jubilee.

Hebrew Temple Pillars
Lilies and Pomegranates in the Hebrew Temple

1 Kings 7:18 And he made the pillars, and two rows round about upon the one network, to cover the chapiters that were upon the top, with pomegranates: and so did he for the other chapiter.

“pomegranates”- Gittith = Winepresses (related to the Autumn Feast of Tabernacles). Bullinger states regarding the biblical symbolism of this word: “There are three Psalms which have this word in their subscription; Pss.7, 80, 83. Gittith is from Gath, (Judg. 6:11, Neh. 13:15, Isa. 63:2, Lam. 1:15) “The word speaks of the fall, just as Shoshannim, [lilies] speaks of the spring. Hence Shoshannim, (flowers) is associated with the spring festival [Passover] just as Gittith (fruit of the vine) is associated with the autumn festival (Tabernacles). The Passover told of Jehovah’s goodness in Divine redemption; the Feast of Tabernacles told of Jehovah’s goodness in Divine keeping.”2  [emphasis mine]

1 Kings 7:19 And the chapiters that were upon the top of the pillars were of lily work in the porch, four cubits.

“Lily”-white flower in color, with a straight tubular trumpet shape, carrying a musical connotation, associated with the joyful praise of the day of trumpets. Shoshannim (Lilies, or the Spring Festival, Passover) This word is found in the subscription of two Psalms 44, 68… “as the spring and autumn were appropriately represented by flowers and fruit respectively, so lilies and winepresses were singled out from each. The Passover and the Feast of Tabernacles divided the year into two fairly equal parts; the former being the spring festival and the latter the fall…. lilies and pomegranates (spring flowers and autumn fruits) were everywhere seen in the Temple (I Kings 7:20-22), and the knops (or knobs) of flowers of Ex.25:31-34 were doubtless the globe-like pomegranates and lilies 3. [emphasis mine]

Even as the Spring and Fall Equinoxes, highlighted on their Feasts and Holy Days in the Hebrew Calendar, mark the East-West Cardinal Directions as seen in the Hebrew Tabernacle and Temple, so we see this emphasized in the heavenly signs surrounding the Biblical Astronomy of the Birth and Second Coming of Jesus Christ. This is detailed in the Jupiter-Venus conjunctions of 3-1 BC, marking the Birth of Jesus Christ. We have seen this with Jesus fulfilling the sufferings of his first appearance on earth in his ministry to Israel, with the heavenly signs of Revelation 12:1-4, marking the birth of the Messianic King.  So we will also see these heavenly signs fulfilling the dual significance of Revelation 12:1-4, birthing the Messianic Kingdom in the glorious Second Coming of the Lord Jesus Christ. There is a series of Jupiter-Venus conjunctions that have already begun, which are an important element in the heavenly signs marking the glorious return of Jesus Christ, and they will mark the constellations of the eastern quarter of the Israelite encampment around the ancient Tabernacle of Israel in the wilderness, even as the heavenly signs surrounding the birth of Christ did.

Ancient Tabernacle of Israel
The Hebrew Tabernacle

In Exodus 28:33,34 and 39:25,26 we find a description of the robes of the High Priest, one of the threefold offices of Jesus Christ. An interesting feature of his garments was the globe-like pomegranates and lilies, around the hem of the High Priest’s ephod. The ephod was tied to the four-corners of his square breastplate, holding the 12 jewels associated with the twelve zodiacal signs, aligned to the four Cardinal Directions on the horizon. Thus, not only the architecture of the Temple, and Tabernacle contained the hidden zodiacal symbolism of the Hebrew calendar, but also the clothes of the High Priest, every detail of which was fulfilled in the ministry of Jesus Christ. The symbolism of the lilies and pomegranates seen in the temple architecture was also mirrored the two basic portions of the year, according to its civil and ecclesiastical divisions, that we have referenced above. Alfred Edersheim supports this view as follows:

The division of the year into ecclesiastical, which commenced with the month Nisan (end of March or beginning of April), or about the spring equinox, and civil which commenced with the seventh month, or Tishri, corresponding to the autumn equinox, has by many likewise been supposed to have only originated after the return from Babylon. But the analogy of the twofold arrangement of weights, measures, and money into civil and sacred, and other notices seem against this view, and it is more likely that from the first the Jews distinguished the civil year, which began in Tishri from the ecclesiastical, which commenced in Nisan, from which month, as the first, all others were counted.4

As the context of I Kings 7 continues, we find more details of the geometric structure and mathematical symbolism of the Temple, it’s furniture and services, in agreement with Edershiem’s views above.

God’s people are no longer dependent upon the sacrifices of bulls and goats by a High Priest that could only enter the presence of God in the Tabernacle once a year, but would have continual access to the Heavenly Father through Jesus Christ, the High Priest after the order of Melchisedek. As we have pointed out in other studies on our web-site, [read more] @www.try-god.com the planet Jupiter was known by the Hebrew name Sedeq, showing the relation of the planet Jupiter with the person and everlasting priesthood of Melchisedek. The Jews looked upon him (the Messiah) as the royal offspring of David “the Sedeq Branch” (Jer. 23:5 Jehovah-Tsidkenu). Further, the word Sedeq was associated with “Melek,“- (King), combined into “Melchisedek,” the Righteous King.5

Hebrews 7:11
If therefore perfection were by the Levitical priesthood, (for under it the people received the law,) what further need was there that another priest should rise after the order of Melchisedec, and not be called after the order of Aaron?

Heb 10:19 -20
Having therefore, brethren, boldness to enter into the holiest by the blood of Jesus, By a new and living way, which he hath consecrated for us, through the veil, that is to say, his flesh;

This is consummated in the final Paradise Administration referred to in Revelation 21-22. We find this in the reference to Jesus Christ as the “no more curse” in Rev. 22:3, who healed the curse that was put upon man as a result the fall in Genesis 3:17.

Rev. 22:3 And there shall be no more curse: but the throne of God and of the Lamb shall be in it; and his servants shall serve him:

Rejection from Eden
The Way of the Tree of Life

Thus, the birth of the only begotten Son of God signaled the beginning of the end of this curse. In Genesis 3:24, after God rejected Adam and Eve from Paradise, He protected the Way of the Tree of Life on the east side of Eden, with the Cherubim’s fiery sword, until the redeemer could come to reactivate the way of salvation and eternal life with God, for humanity. This door ultimately lead to the altar of the holy of holies, (the Life) in the inner heart of God’s Sanctuary, in the holiest of all in the Hebrew Tabernacle and Temple, containing the Ark of the Covenant.

The truths of Jesus as the Shepherd are vividly seen in three Psalms 2223 and 24, showing the sufferings and glory of the Lord. As the Prophet, the Good Shepherd gave his life not only for the sheep, but for the safe-keeping of all people who would come unto him [John 10:11]. As the High Priest and the Great Shepherd, he is the first, last and only door, the alpha and omega, which provides the way of access through his resurrection [Heb. 13:20] unto life, into the true spiritual fellowship with our Heavenly Father. As the King and Chief Shepherd, his victorious Second Coming will exhibit his final glory, coming as the King of Kings and Lord of Lords, [I Pet. 5:4, Rev. 19:16].

Thus, like the eastern shepherd, Jesus Christ embodies Jehovah-Nissi: the redemptive name for JehovahGod protecting His people, [Ps. 23:1].

The pattern of the east-west axis through the Hebrew Tabernacle and Temple is also found in the order of heavenly signs surrounding the birth of Jesus Christ. We find this in the pattern of three Jupiter-Venus Conjunctions, marking the birth of Christ that occurred from 3 to 1 BC. The first Jupiter-Venus Conjunction was in the final degree of Cancer, near its zero line border with Leo. The second was in fully in Leo, while the third was in Virgo. These three conjunctions in Cancer, Leo and Virgo represent the eastern quarter of the Hebrew zodiac, the heavenly image of the eastern side of the Israelite’s wilderness camp, the entrance or Way to the Door of the holy place (the truth) in the Hebrew Tabernacle. The temporal progression of these planetary conjunctions perfectly matches the divine pattern of Israel’s tribal arrangement on the eastern side of the Hebrew TabernacleJudah/Leo was due east of the entrance to the holy of the holies, via the holy place, centrally located between the other two eastern tribes of Issachar/Cancer and Zebulon/Virgo. These planetary unions surrounding the birth of Christ are fully detailed in my book on The Season of the Morning Star. This eastern door to the Hebrew Tabernacle represents the way, the truth, and the life, of John 14:6, which is embodied in Jesus Christ as the risen Son and light of the world, the door of the sheep, the Good Shepherd [Jn.10], the true way which leads unto life.

The Biblical Astronomy of the heavenly signs leading to the Second Coming of the Lord Jesus Christ, not only follow the pattern set by the heavenly signs surrounding the birth of Christ in 3-2 BC, but they also conform to architectural structure of the Tabernacle we have already seen in the Tabernacle of Moses. The first Jupiter-Venus conjunction associated with the Blood Moon Tetrad of 2014-2015 took place in the Beehive cluster in the Sign of Cancer, on August 18th, 2014. There are multiple Jupiter-Venus Conjunctions set to take place in 2015, all in Leo, with additional Jupiter-Venus unions occurring in Virgo in 2016-17. The temporal progression of these planetary conjunctions again perfectly matches the divine pattern of Israel’s tribal arrangement on the eastern side of the Tabernacle, clearly marking the way for the Triumphant Second Coming of the Lord. The brilliant and effulgent light of the Sonrise of the Ages, with the dawning of the Sun of Righteousness, will be the sunburst of the Great Day of the Lord’s Second Coming, when the Daystar arises in our hearts; [II Pet. 1:19].

Biblical Astronomy of the Venus-Mars Conjunctions of 2015

Birth of Jesus Christ
Biblical Astronomy of the Birth of Christ

Biblical Astronomy of the Venus-Mars Conjunctions of 2015.

The Biblical Astronomy of the Venus-Mars Conjunction of February 22, 2015 is a unique heavenly sign, the first of two Venus-Mars conjunctions in 2015. The first Venus-Mars union from Feb. 21-22 in Pisces, presages the Spring Equinox on March 20th/Nisan 1, while the second Venus-Mars conjunction occurs November 3rd, 2015 in Virgo. As we stated in our previous post, the Total Solar Eclipse on Nisan 1, opens the ecclesiastical year in the Hebrew Calendar on the Spring Equinox, even as the Partial Solar Eclipse marks the opening of the civil year on Hebrew New Years, Sept. 13, 2015 and the Feast of Trumpets.

Even as Jesus fulfilled the Spring Hebrew Feast and Holy days, from Passover through Pentecost in his first appearance on Earth, and his ministry to Israel, so we can expect him to fulfill the Fall feasts and holy days of the Hebrew calendar in his victorious return. We can see this in Christ’s ministry as Prophet, Priest and King because as he embodied the one-time perfect sacrifice for Israel as the Passover Lamb, so he also took on the duties of the High Priest after the Order of Melchizedek, whose eternal priesthood has permanently replaced the Aaronic Priesthood, with the sacrifices of bulls and goats. These duties were highlighted by the sufferings of Christ as he laid down his life not only for Israel, but for all mankind. The fall feasts however reflect his majestic glory and the inception of his Millennial reign on earth as King of Kings and Lord of Lords, returning to vanquish all his foes, installing his everlasting Kingdom of Righteousness.

We find this conjunction of Venus-Mars on Feb. 21-22, located on the ecliptic almost at the point where the Sun will mark the Spring Equinox in the following month, on March 20th. This directs our attention to the opening of an important Jubilee year on the Hebrew Calendar, on March 20th/Nisan 1 with a Total Solar Eclipse. Having this Sabbatical year marked not only by planetary conjunctions, but also with the Blood Moon Tetrad of 2014-2015, certainly distinguishes the Biblical Astronomy this Sabbatical year above many others in the eyes of the Almighty. These two Venus -Mars conjunctions of 2015 effectively frame the crescendo of the Blood Moon Tetrad in 2015, between Feb. 21-22 and Nov. 3rd. This reminds me of some similar heavenly signs involving Venus and Mars that surrounded the Biblical Astronomy of the birth of Christ. Between the March 31st, 2 BC Venus-Mars-Saturn conjunction and the Venus-Mars union of 12-92 BC some key heavenly signs surrounding the birth of Christ enlightened the heavens. The following segment of my DVD presentation on the Biblical Astronomy of the Birth and Return of Jesus Christ, details some of these heavenly signs for us.

As we saw in our Biblical Astronomy DVD presentation, the June 17th, 2 BC conjunction of the King Planet Jupiter and Venus the bright and Morning Star was a key heavenly sign marking the birth of Christ. The fact that there were two Venus-Mars conjunctions bracketing this Jupiter-Venus conjunction, between March 31st, 2BC and Dec. 9th, 2BC, should alone arrest our attention. But when we add the fact that the greatest portion of heavenly signs marking the birth of Jesus Christ in 3-1BC were also bracketed by two Jupiter-Venus conjunctions, really causes us to stand up and take notice. The first Jupiter-Venus Conjunction took place on August 31st 3BC, in Leo with the last one occurring on August 21st 1BC, in Virgo.

As the main heavenly signs marking the birth of Christ are summarized in the Alpha-Omega signs of the Biblical ZodiacVirgo and Leo, we see the signs of the celestial Sphinx emphasized once again. Since the Venus-Mars conjunctions of 2015 bracket the crescendo of the Blood Moon Tetrad in the Sabbatical year of 2015, we see Venus-the bright and Morning Star unified with Mars, signifying the Warrior Archangel Michael, emphasized in their battle joined against the forces of darkness. Even as the Dragon attempted to take out the promised seed of Israel, Jesus Christ at his birth, so the persecution of Israel has continued, as the series of Blood Moon Tetrads has witnessed over the last 200 centuries. Ever since the prophecy of the Promised Seed first took place in [Genesis 3:14-15] spiritual warfare has been waged [Rev. 12:7] between the forces of Light and Darkness, coming to points of crisis as seen in the dual fulfillment of [Revelation 12:1-4].

The blood moon of April 15 passes over the winged figure of victory gracing the cenotaph at Queens Park in Maryborough.
Archangel’s Sword and the Blood Moon

As we have already seen, the dual fulfillment of [Rev. 12:1-4] is witnessed in the sufferings of Jesus Christ, fulfilling the Spring feasts and holy days as the embodiment of the Passover Lamb in his ministry to Israel. The glory of the Lord is seen in his fulfilling of the Fall feasts and holy days in his victorious return as King of Kings and Lord of Lords. The events playing out in today’s Middle East region surrounding Israel’s current war, is setting the stage for the end of days– the final events of human history leading up to the glorious return of the Lord Jesus Christ. As the 2015 Blood Moon Tetrad concludes later this year, a key aspect of Joel’s Prophecy [Acts 2:20] will have been fulfilled before our eyes.

Acts 2:20 “The Sun shall be turned into darkness and the Moon into blood, before that great and notable day of the Lord Come.”

It was not a coincidence the Apostle Peter quoted the words of Joel in the preamble of his Pentecost sermon; [Acts 2:17-20] opening the Age of Grace. This period of God’s awesome blessing which brought us the availability of the spiritual new birth, was kept secret by God since the World began, [Rom. 16:25-27, Eph. 3:2-7]. Now we stand at the precipice of the fulfillment of this wonderful Age, the end of which Peter prophesied at its inception, whose conclusion will witness the ultimate victory over the forces of darkness told in the heavens by these specific celestial signs. The series of partial/total solar eclipses on the Lord’s Feasts and holy days, along with the series of Blood Moon Tetrads leading to the concluding Blood Moons we are about to witness, including the first Blood Moon this year coming on April 4th in the Spring of this Jubilee year of 2015, initiates the completion of the set of preliminary heavenly signs that Joel prophesied would take place. Since there are no more Blood Moon Lunar or Solar eclipses scheduled to fall on Hebrew Feast days for the next 500 years, there has never been a time in human history where all the prophetic requirements leading to the End of Days has been in place like they are now. Joel told us these signs would occur “before the great and notable day of the Lord,” referring to the long-awaited return of the Lord Jesus Christ. Recognition of the specifics of how the second fulfilling of [Rev. 12:1-4] comes to pass, along with the key planetary conjunctions and other heavenly signs, involved in the completion of this scenario, will tell the tale of the Biblical Astronomy of the End of Days, as we countdown to 2017.

Blood Moon Lunar Eclipses surrounding the Birth of Christ

Birth of Christ
The Heavenly Signs Marking the Birth of Christ

Blood Moon Eclipses Surrounding the Birth of Christ

For those planning to view the Blood Moon Lunar eclipse Wednesday morning 10-8-2014, they have a treat in store for them.  This event takes place at sunrise while the Blood Moon will be setting, providing a very rare opportunity to see the rising Sun and setting Blood Moon in the skies at the same time. This adds spice to an already tasty menu of Blood Moons on Hebrew Feast and holy days, such as tomorrow’s Feast of Tabernacles or Sukkot. The events surrounding this Blood Moon Tetrad just get more amazing the closer we approach their conclusion. Why could this be? Perhaps its because when the Almighty spun the stars and planets in their courses, at Creation, He knew the critical significance attached to marking the great appearances of His only begotten Son.

The Creator’s perfect prophetic plan of redemption naturally accounts for all contingencies. This includes not only all aspects of his Written Word being upheld, but also with the full support of the witness of His Creation. As He set the truth of the coming redeemer-Jesus Christ in His Written Word, He also backed these truths with many signs and wonders on earth, and in the heavens. These Heavenly Signs spoke to those with eyes to see, just as loudly as the witness of the Scriptures. Just as this was the case with the first coming of Christ, so it is with his imminent Return. In this light, our examination of the Blood Moon Tetrads takes on added meaning and depth for the end times, since God provided a blueprint of heavenly signs, starting over 2000 years ago, marking the birth of Christ, that provides the keys to our recognition of his Second Coming. We find this Scriptural record in Revelation 12.

Rev. 12:1-2 “Now a great sign appeared in heaven, a woman clothed with the Sun with the Moon under her feet, and on her had a garland of 12 stars. 2 Then being with child, she cried out in labor and in pain to give birth.”

Virgo marking the birth of Christ
Virgo Clothed in the Sun with the Moon at her Feet on 9-11-3BC-Tishri 1.

This Scripture gives us the keys to decipher the celestial signs marking the first and second coming of Christ. A sign in the heavens in verse 1, refers to a celestial sign on the path of the Sun, called the ecliptic in the heavens. On this path which the Sun takes through the heavens in its annual course, there is only one sign of the zodiac depicted as a singular woman-Virgo the virgin. Virgo is clothed with the Sun for 20 days every year, which is one of the 12 keys of the “Celestial Prelude” listed below. However the Moon only appears at the feet of Virgo one day each year while she is clothed with the Sun. This was September 11th in 3 BC marking the birth of Christ, [Rev. 12:2].

This heavenly sign took place again in autumn of 2017, after the Blood Moon Tetrad of 2014-2015 [Joel 2:28-31]. We will take a detailed look at a comparison of these signs in an upcoming study, which this serves as the basis for, but for now let’s continue with the heavenly signs of Christ’s first appearance. The Apostle Peter refers to the return of Christ in his second epistle;

II Peter 1:19 “So we have the prophetic Word confirmed, which you do well to heed as a light that shines in a dark place, until the day dawns and the morning star arises in your hearts.”

We as Sons of God, don’t have to wait for the return of Christ to stand in his delegated authority to us, because the power of Christ in us, is a spiritual reality in our Christian new birth. As we stand on this authority of the arisen daystar in our hearts; [II Pet. 1:19], all kingdoms of darkness in this world are already under our feet. As we find in the chart below, an aspect of the darkness of the world is symbolized not only in lunar occultations in April of 6 BC, but also the luni-solar eclipses of 7-1 BC. This reveals prophetic patterns that the Heavenly Father wrote into His celestial epistles for those with the understanding to decipher and believe the truth of this stellar witness, marking the long-awaited return of the promised seed.

The heavenly signs setting the pattern of the birth of Christ, starting at the first Jupiter-Saturn union of 7 BC, set forth specific signposts that the Magi were on the lookout for starting in 3 BC. These preliminary signs from 7-5 BC provided the Magi the blueprints they would need to recognize the heavenly signs identifying the time frame of the birth of Christ. When I first posted this study 20 years ago on our Try-God.com website, it fell in a category I called the “Celestial Prelude,” The fact that the heavenly signs of this dress rehearsal unfolded over a period of 2 years was also a clue of what the Magi could expect, when the curtain actually arose on the celestial pageantry of the birth of Christ. Below is a reprint of the key points that were posted in a “Summary of the Celestial Prelude,” which serves as a good starting point for review, in light of the modern context of the Blood Moon Tetrad of 2014-2015.

As we see in the charts comparing the heavenly signs of 7-5 with those of 3-1 BC, the stellar pattern of conjunctions is strikingly similar. Some points that would have caught the Magi’s attention are as follows:

12 Characteristics of the Celestial Prelude

• Jupiter was clearly marked as “his star.”
• Jupiter was involved in a triple planetary Conjunction.
• Jupiter was involved in a series of planetary conjunctions.
• Jupiter’s retrograde motion would play a key role.
• Jupiter’s triple union was followed by a massing of planets.
• This massing of planets was followed by a Mars Conjunction.
• The Jupiter-Mars Conjunction was followed by a series of lunar occultations, and total “Blood Moon” lunar eclipses.
• This series of conjunctions would last about two years.
• The annual twenty days when the Sun is in Virgo would be a key.
• The September 15th alignment of Jupiter, Saturn the Earth and Sun in 7 BC that occurred in the evening at sunset, directed the Magi’s attention to the end of the 20-day period when Virgo was “clothed with the Sun.”
• The lunar eclipse on September 15th of 5 BC established that the Magi should be watchful of lunar activity during this time. This framed the 42 minute period between Sunset and Moonset on the only day of the year when Virgo “was clothed with the Sun with the Moon under her feet.”
• The September 15th Heliacal Rising of Jupiter and Saturn foreshadowed the Heliacal Setting of the star Spica, between the setting Sun and Moon in Virgo, identifying a key 30-minute period when the birth of Christ took place.

These twelve stellar pointers provided by the Hand of the Heavenly Father left no doubt as to the time of year, the specific day and even the time of day for the Magi to recognize the time frame of the birth of the only begotten Son of God. Since we have this detailed account of the celestial setting marking the birth of Christ, it is fitting that we reconstruct the specifics of the solar and lunar eclipses leading up to the birth of Christ, for comparison with the modern Blood Moon Tetrads for insight. The following chart includes the solar and lunar eclipses, up to and including the Lunar Eclipse marking the death of Herod in Jan. of 1 BC.

*Solar and Lunar eclipse info is provided from the NASA website on Solar and Lunar eclipses.

The Jupiter-Saturn triple Conjunctions in 7 BC, highlighted by a planetary alignment on Sept. 15th 7BC, initiated a pattern of heavenly signs that reappeared in September of 5 BC with a pair of lunar eclipses. On 9-5-5BC there was a partial Solar eclipse, with a Total Lunar eclipse following 10 days later on 9-15-5BC. These heavenly signs exactly 2 years apart, pointed out to the Magi that they should be on the lookout for heavenly signs marking the birth of Christ, in the next 2-year period in September of 3 BC! Since September marked Hebrew New Year’s Holy day, called Rosh Hashanah starting the sacred seventh month of Tishri, on September 11th 3BC, the Magi would have been on notice with their eyes riveted to the heavens for the signs denoting the coming of the prophesied King of the Jews. As stated in the summary above, the lunar activity in 5BC established that the Magi should be watchful of lunar activity during this time, two years later in 3BC. This framed the 42-minute period between Sunset and Moonset on the only day of the year when Virgo “was clothed with the Sun with the Moon under her feet.” [Rev. 12:1]. This period in mid-September towards the end of the annual 20-day time-frame when the “Sun was clothing Virgo,” was also marked by the first of 3 unions of Jupiter and Regulus in 3-2BC, showing a celestial coronation ceremony where the king star Regulus in Leo, the sign marking the Lion of the Tribe of Judah [Rev. 5:5], was crowned by the king planet Jupiter as a result of Jupiter’s retrograde motion in Leo. [read more] This was a key aspect of the Creator’s singular means of depicting the crowning of His Promised Seed in the heavens.

Leo the Lion of Judah with Regulus

Although there is no overt Blood Moon Tetrad marking the birth of Christ, there is critical lunar activity, without which the Magi would not have fully realized the heavenly signs surrounding Christ’s birth. It is also noteworthy that these specific heavenly signs marking the birth of Christ are framed by four Total lunar eclipses between March of 5 BC and July of 1 BC. In light of the remarkable Blood Moon Tetrad activity involving the history of Israel that would follow over the next 2000 years, this is certainly significant, and may qualify as a preliminary sign to be cognizant of, not only Total lunar eclipses in general, but lunar eclipses in sets of 4 particularly.

With these heavenly signs from 7-1 BC marking the specifics of the Birth of Christ, we should not be surprised to see similar celestial events marking the much awaited and prophesied return of the Lord Jesus Christ. This is in fact what we are seeing in light of ther dual significance of Revelation 12:1-2. The biblical truths of this scripture tell not only of Christ’s birth, but also his second coming, established by similar heavenly signs marking both events. As we are witnessing during the time of writing this study, the Blood Moon Tetrad of 2014-2015, we are on a sharp watch for any heavenly signs that resemble those around his birth, and the signs from the Hand of the Almighty pointed out in the chart above, give us the basis of this search. This in truth serves as a divine check and balance system in Biblical Astronomy, because as we see the blueprints of heavenly signs that told of the first coming of Christ, we will see a racpitualtion of heavenly signs marking his triumphant return.

As far as the next Blood Moon Lunar eclipse is concerned on the Feast of TabernaclesOctober 8th 2014, like the full moons of previous months leading to the Sukkot Blood Moon, known as a Super Moons, due to their position and distance to the earth, they are closer than normally seen. This 2nd Blood Moon in the 2014-2015 Tetrad is characterized by a series Super moons in the previous months capped of by a Sukkot Blood Moon. This is important because as the Blood Moon Tetrad series continues into 2015, the Super Moon will return again, only this time as part of the 4th Blood Moon of the series. Also, this month’s Blood Moon takes place in the constellation Pisces, which is noteworthy, because historically the sign of the fishes symbolized the land of Israel. The fact that the heavenly signs from 7-5 BC almost all occur in Pisces, is interesting because for the Magi, the constellation Pisces symbolizes the House of Jacob, and as they followed the King’s Star Jupiter, it explains why the Magi came to Jerusalem looking for the King of Israel. Pisces is also critical due to the Precession of the Equinoxes, which shifted from the Age of Aries to the Age of Pisces in 7-6BC, marked by the triple union of Jupiter and Saturn during that time.

We trust this article provides some added perspective on the Blood Moon Tetrad, historically and Biblically so we can decipher the signs the heavenly Father laid out in the skies, in His perfect Foreknowledge.
