Joel- The Blood Moon Prophet

Isaiah 24:23 Then the moon shall be confounded, and the sun ashamed; for Yahweh of Armies will reign on Mount Zion, and in Jerusalem; and before his elders will be glory

Since the summer of 2014 we have posted multiple articles on the significance of Blood Moon Tetrads over the last 200 centuries during the Age of Grace. We have made references to the Joel’s Prophecies concerning the Blood Moon Lunar and Solar eclipses on Hebrew feast and Holy days, but in order to understand the scope of these prophecies, we need to take a closer look at the Biblical context of Joel’s Prophecies. A study of the four main Biblical usages of the Hebrew word [moed- H4150], will supply and establish the missing Biblical evidence of the Blood Moon Tetrads on Hebrew Feasts. We will also consider how some prophecies from Isaiah, as above relate to this study. With this in mind, lets begin by considering the second chapter of Joel to see what God’s Word can tell us, since the Scripture always defines its own terms in how individual words are utilized within the Word of Truth, on any given subject addressed.

Joel 2 (KJV)

1 Blow ye the trumpet in Zion, and sound an alarm in my holy mountain: let all the inhabitants of the land tremble: for the day of the Lord cometh, for it is nigh at hand;

The first verse of Joel 2 sets the context for the Blood Moon Prophecy later in the chapter. Zion represents God’s Holy Mountain, and God dwelling among His people in these last days, and forever. This refers to both Judeans and Gentiles who are followers of Christ, starting with Israel in the OT. God is clearly SOUNDING the ALARM in His Holy Mountain becausethe Day of the Lord, the long awaited Day of the Second Coming of Christ is “nigh at hand.” This sets the context and the tone for the Blood Moon Prophecies following in Joel 2 & 3.

A primary key to the entire Blood Moon dialogue is found in a basic section of Scripture relevant to Biblical Astronomy, in Genesis 1.

Genesis 1:14-16
¹⁴Then God said, “Let there be lights in the firmament of the heavens to divide the day from the night; and let them be for signs and seasons, and for days and years; ¹⁵and let them be for lights in the firmament of the heavens to give light on the earth”; and it was so. ¹⁶Then God made two great lights: the greater light to rule the day, and the lesser light to rule the night. He made the stars also.

Pastor Mark Biltz was one to point out that the word for “seasons” in verse 14 is [moed- H4150] in an appointed time or season. It has specific Biblical references to Hebrew feast and holy days; [Levi. 23:2-4, 37 & 44], or the seven primary feasts on the Hebrew Calendar. The heavenly signs involving the Blood Moon Lunar and Solar Eclipses on Hebrew feast days, is a primary defining aspect of Blood Moon Tetrads in the last 2000 years of the Age of Grace. This Genesis record lays a foundation for Biblical Astronomy, and although we have seen many media references in the hoopla over the Blood Moon mania, to Joel’s Prophecies of the “Moon turning to blood,” we have not seen specific Biblical evidence of Blood Moons on Hebrew Feasts days! This is probably one reason why the majority of headlines associated with Blood Moons end in question marks or vague predictions, instead of exclamation points! God says what He means, and means what He says in His Word, and the integrity of Scripture is beyond reproach, so we just need to ascertain what His Word says and do it.

Since this is a basis of the idea for Blood Moons relating to Israel, we need to be clear on this point, removing any conjecture linked to the Blood Moon Phenomena. A deeper view of the context of Joel’s “Blood Moon Prophecy” will show us what we are looking for. The Hebrew word for “seasons” has 4 different Biblical usages, the first one as an appointed time or season, is evident and the most popular, since it provides a direct link to Hebrew feasts. According to Gesenius,1 this word is also used in reference to not only the assembly, but also the place of assembly. In the OT, this is the place God chose to reveal himself to His people, the Tabernacle of Congregation for example; [Exod. 27:21, 33:7, 11, 40:22-24, Num. 7:89] was this place, as Moses lead Israel in the Exodus through the wilderness. Later when a permanent Temple was built in Jerusalem on Mount Zion, this became the central point of Hebrew spiritual life. Isaiah provides more detail on this;

Look at Zion, the city of our appointed festivals. Your eyes will see Jerusalem, a quiet habitation, a tent that won’t be removed. Its stakes will never be plucked up, nor will any of its cords be broken.

The reference above in Isa. 33:20 speaks to Zion in the same breath as the appointed festivals, referring Feast and Holy days on the Hebrew Calendar, linking the place of feasts with the feasts themselves. This seems obvious on the surface, but when we realize the context, of Joel 2 and his Blood Moon Prophecies in the next few verses, we can see the direct links between the Blood Moons on the Hebrew Feasts which set these Blood Moon Tetrads apart from Blood Moons that don’t take place on these feasts, over the last 200 centuries. There are hundreds of Blood Moons to chose from in the Age of Grace, but only a relative few coinciding with Hebrew Feast and Holy days.

[Joel 2:1] provides the setting of the trumpet blast in “Mountain of God’s Habitation,” the location of the Holy Temple, so that Joel is Sounding the Alarm for the Day of the Lord in Zion, telling us God is starting with the faithful of Israel, His nearest and dearest so to speak, letting us know that the trumpet blast in Mount Zion is not to be ignored, but must be heeded with urgency. God has many more people on earth than those of Israel, as many have come to God through Christ, and those who believe His Word will heed the warnings, but the truth isn’t for everyone. There are generally four reasons that trumpets were blown in Israel [Num. 10:1-10]. One was a call to war, which fits with the armies coming to surround Jerusalem leading to a final battle in Joel 2:2-9. Another was for a call to assembly as seen in the following verses from Joel 2 below.

¹⁵Blow the trumpet in Zion, sanctify a fast, call a solemn assembly: ¹⁶Gather the people, sanctify the congregation, assemble the elders, gather the children, and those that suck the breasts: let the bridegroom go forth of his chamber, and the bride out of her closet.

Isa. 33:20 also tells us to Look at Zion, the city of our appointed festivals! The Hebrew for appointed festivals here is [moed- H4150], showing the same direct link to the Hebrew Feast days, proving the context for Sounding the Alarm in Zion-the place of assembly for God’s people, on the 7 sacred feasts. The nation of Israel even as the Church of God must be a sanctified congregation as Joel 2:15 states, because the pure holiness of our Heavenly Father requires a pure and holy people for Him to dwell in their midst. These feasts like Passover, the Feast of Tabernacles and the Day of Atonement, to mention a few, are the holy days marked by Blood Moon Tetrads of the Age of Grace, prophesied not only by Joel, but also by the Apostle Peter in his Sermon on the Day of Pentecost opening the Age of Grace, [Acts 2:19-20]. Joel’s Prophecy in [Joel 2:28] below, was also fulfilled on this long sought after Day of Pentecost when God’s people first spoke in tongues.

²⁸And it shall come to pass afterward, that I will pour out my spirit upon all flesh; and your sons and your daughters shall prophesy, your old men shall dream dreams, your young men shall see visions: ²⁹And also upon the servants and upon the handmaids in those days will I pour out my spirit.

Isa. 33:20 goes on to reference Jerusalem, reclaimed by Israel in 1967 for the first time in nearly 2000 years, in the 6-day war with Egypt-marked by the Blood Moon Tetrad of 1967-68. In the context of this Jerusalem reference, we find the “tent” or place of the congregation where the Temple of God will be rebuilt in the end-times, on Mount Zion, the Mountain of God’s Habitation.

In verses 2-9 of Joel 2, the armies who gather themselves against Israel in the last days are starting to materialize, and the preliminary aspects for this battle are being set on the world stage as we speak. The political pacts forming the armies surrounding Israel in these verses, are being formed as a result of current international alliances in the news. Verse 10 below not only provides a reference to the Sun, Moon and Stars wherein Israel keeps its Calendar, but it also references the darkening of the Sun and Moon leading up to the specific warning of the Blood Moon prophecy later in this chapter, [Joel 2:31].

¹⁰The earth shall quake before them; the heavens shall tremble: the sun and the moon shall be dark, and the stars shall withdraw their shining:

Verse 10 prophesies of the darkening of the Sun and Moon as we are seeing with the Blood Moon Lunar and Solar eclipses in the current Blood Moon Tetrad of 2014-2015. Verse 11 states the time of these heavenly signs is part of the final warning in the run-up to the Day of the Lord, and the end time battles that accompany the Return of Christ. We have already noted 2 of the Biblical usages of [moed-H4150] in this article, and the third will nail down direct Biblical evidence of the Blood Moon Lunar and Solar Eclipses on the Hebrew feast and holy days, beyond a shadow of a doubt. Not only are the Lord’s Feasts emphasized in the assembly of God’s people, along with the Place of the Assembly-like the Tabernacle of the Congregation, but also the annual nature of these feast days take place in recurring prophetic years, as another important Biblical usage of moed.

A great example of this is the recent March 20th, Total Solar Eclipse on Nisan 1. As the opening of the ecclesiastical year on the Hebrew Calendar, along with Tishri 1, the Feast of Trumpets divides their calendar in half according to the sacred and civil years. Since we have the darkening of the Sun on both sacred feast days during the Blood Moon Tetrad in 2015, we find the annual nature of these feasts marked by these prophesied heavenly signs between the Blood Moons. The prophetic aspect of the Hebrew Calendar is unique among all timekeeping systems in history, because Almighty God has spun the celestial bodies in their orbits according to His sacred timing, Who sees the end from the beginning. Even as heavenly signs marked the first appearance of Christ on Earth, that came in 2 phases, even so the heavens will announce the Second Coming of Christ. He will return first FOR His Saints, followed in the Second Phase when Christ Returns WITH His Saints. We must keep these phases straight in relation to the heavenly signs marking the general period of His Return. As the Second Coming of Christ grows nearer, the persecution of the enemy becomes more intense.

Isaiah 28:16 Therefore thus says the Lord Yahweh, “Behold, I lay in Zion for a foundation a stone, a tried stone, a precious cornerstone of a sure foundation. He who believes shall not act hastily.

Joel 2:11-13, 23-27
¹¹And the Lord shall utter his voice before his army: for his camp is very great: for he is strong that executes his word: for the Day of the Lord is great and very terrible; and who can abide it?

Those of us with true spiritual strength know that this strength is not of us, but it resides in the completed works of what Christ was accomplished in destroying the works of the devil, [I John 3:8]. As we stand on the Rock Solid foundation of Christ in us, each believer can rest assured that no weapon the enemy brings against us will prevail, until the great and wonderful day, now fast approaching when Jesus Christ returns to put down the enemy and his minions for all time.

¹²Therefore also now, saith the Lord, turn ye even to me with all your heart, and with fasting, and with weeping, and with mourning:

God’s Will is that all should be saved and come unto a knowledge of the truth, and as the days grow shorter to the Second Coming of Christ, the Heavenly Father is pleading for all people to repent of their evil ways, and turn their hearts unto Him, our merciful and most loving Almighty God, Who is waiting with open arms to forgive us our sins and make us whole in Jesus Christ.

¹³And rend your heart, and not your garments, and turn unto the Lord your God: for he is gracious and merciful, slow to anger, and of great kindness, and repenteth him of the evil. ¹⁴Who knows if he will return and repent, and leave a blessing behind him; even a meat offering and a drink offering unto the Lord your God?

When our hearts turn completely to God with nothing held back, He showers His abundance upon us in every category of Life, that He is the Master of- the Author of Life. This is the true basis of Joy and rejoicing in our Heavenly Father, as we turn everything over to Him, He gives us more than we could ever ask or think; [Eph. 3:20].

²³Be glad then, ye children of Zion, and rejoice in the Lord your God: for He hath given you the former rain moderately, and he will cause to come down for you the rain, the former rain, and the latter rain in the first month. ²⁴And the floors shall be full of wheat, and the vats shall overflow with wine and oil. ²⁵And I will restore to you the years that the locust hath eaten, the cankerworm, and the caterpiller, and the palmer-worm, my great army which I sent among you. ²⁶And ye shall eat in plenty, and be satisfied, and praise the name of the Lord your God, that hath dealt wondrously with you: and my people shall never be ashamed. ²⁷And ye shall know that I am in the midst of Israel, and that I am the Lord your God, and none else: and my people shall never be ashamed.

Blood Moon over Jerusalem

Psalm 104:¹⁹He appointed the moon for seasons: the sun knows his going down.

As the Psalmist tells us above; The Almighty is the One Who appointed the Moon for Seasons! The Hebrew word for appointed [asah-H6213] is used of God’s creative activity, but is also used of Man in keeping the Passover [Ex.12:48], and man’s faithfulness, [Gen. 32:11]. God set the Moon in its synchronized orbit around the earth to to mark the “seasons” [moed-H4150], or the feasts of His Sacred Calendar. These prominent heavenly signs are ingrained into Hebrew timekeeping practices for thousands of years going back in the OT. This sets the groundwork for the Blood Moons since the lunar cycle has been tied to Hebrew Passover and the Feast of Tabernacles since their inception. The 4th Biblical usage of [moed-H4150] is found in the category of signs [Ex. 13:8-14] or signals, [Deut. 16:6] including heavenly signs! This brings the context of Joel’s Blood Moon Prophecies full circle in the Biblical usage of moed, and the Blood Moon Lunar and Solar Eclipses we have already seen in [Joel 2:10, 31], also linked with the 2015 Eclipses on “recurring prophetic years,” in Tishri and Nisan 1. These heavenly signs and wonders from the Hand of the Creator are shown beyond a shadow of doubt, to be sent for our warning and edification in these last days of the Age leading to the Second Coming of Christ. As we have laid out the four Biblical usages of [moed-H4150] we have seen undeniable Biblical evidence for the Blood Moon Tetrads on Hebrew Feast and Holy days throughout the Age of Grace, even into our current day. Our contextual view of Joel 2 and related verses has shown us that God is the One backing up His Word in the heavenly signs that include the Blood Moon Lunar and Solar Eclipses of 2014-2015. God’s Word establishes this idea in verse 30 below.

³⁰And I will shew wonders in the heavens and in the earth, blood, and fire, and pillars of smoke.

God says He is The One showing the wonders in heaven and earth! Its not by chance or natural coincidence that these Blood Moons took place on Hebrew feast and holy days, it is by the design of the Hand of the Almighty… The series of Blood Moon Lunar and Solar Eclipses during the Age of Grace is an example of these kind of heavenly wonders God is displaying for us. The prophecy in verse 31 below is the one getting most media attention, but we cannot understand it fully without the context of God’s Word in Joel 2. This verse provides more information for us narrowing the time frame of these solar and lunar signs to before the Great and terrible Day of the Lord comes! The “Last days” technically include the entire Age of Grace, but we are now in the end times since Israel has been reformed as a nation, for the first time in over 2000 years, marked also by the Blood Moon Tetrad of 1948-1949!

³¹The sun shall be turned into darkness, and the moon into blood, before the great and terrible day of the Lord come. ³²And it shall come to pass, that whosoever shall call on the name of the Lord shall be delivered: for in mount Zion and in Jerusalem shall be deliverance, as the Lord hath said, and in the remnant whom the Lord shall call.

But whoever calls on the Name of the Lord shall be delivered, and those that heed these dire warnings from the Hand of God will share in the glory of the Lord…

In a previous Blog post on the March 20th Total Solar Eclipse at the North Pole, we pointed out the celestial mechanism of the precession of the poles, where the pole star has receded from its former position at the star Thuban in Draco the Dragon to Polaris, in the tail of Ursa Minor, the current star at our celestial North Pole. This represents another celestial prophecy of our Coming Lord and Redeemer-Jesus Christ

Isa. 52: 1-8.1 Awake, awake; put on thy strength, O Zion; put on thy beautiful garments, O Jerusalem, the holy city: for henceforth there shall no more come into thee the uncircumcised and the unclean.2 Shake thyself from the dust; arise, and sit down, O Jerusalem: loose thyself from the bands of thy neck, O captive daughter of Zion.3 For thus saith the LORD, Ye have sold yourselves for nought; and ye shall be redeemed without money.4 For thus saith the Lord GOD, My people went down aforetime into Egypt to sojourn there; and the Assyrian oppressed them without cause.5 Now therefore, what have I here, saith the LORD, that my people is taken away for nought? They that rule over them make them to howl, saith the LORD; and my name continually every day is blasphemed.6 Therefore my people shall know my name: therefore they shall know in that day that I am He that doth speak: Behold, it is I. 7 How beautiful upon the mountains are the feet of him that bringeth good tidings, that publisheth peace; that bringeth good tidings of good, that publisheth salvation; that saith unto Zion, Thy God reigneth! 8 Thy watchmen shall lift up the voice; with the voice together shall they sing: for they shall see eye to eye, when the LORD shall bring again Zion.

As the decan of Andromeda is pictured in chains, so these chains will be broken by the Coming Christ, the Redeemer, and the captive daughter of Zion will sit down and reign as Queen. The third decan of Pisces is Cepheus, known as Pe-ku-hor, in Egypt, the one who comes the rule.

This not only corresponds with Cepheus as the crowned king, but also relates to the pole star Polaris residing between his feet [Eph. 1:20-23], signifying Christ’s dominion over all Creation as seen in the precession of the poles. These realities are taking place as we speak for the wheels of God’s justice are turning more rapidly as we closely approach the Day of the Lord. We rejoice and are glad as we see this day coming quickly knowing that our enemies will be crushed as all they who oppose the One True Living God!

The History of Blood Moon Tetrads and Jerusalem

Passover Blood Moon on April 4th 2015

The upcoming Passover Blood Moon on April 4th, 2015 is the third Blood Moon in the Blood Moon Tetrad of 2014-2015. As the first full moon two weeks after the Total Solar Eclipse at the North Pole, on March 20th, Nisan 1 and the Spring Equinox, it marks not only the opening of the ecclesiastical year in Israel, but also the midpoint in both the Hebrew Sabbatical year of 2014-2015, and the Blood Moon Tetrad over the same period. When we consider that there has never been a Total Solar Eclipse at the North Pole in the history of timekeeping in the Hebrew Calendar, we can see that this upcoming Passover/Easter Blood Moon is most certainly a unique one. As we consider the Total Solar eclipse on Nisan 1, we should recall that it also coincides with the Dedication of the Tabernacle in the wilderness. But, the April 4th Passover Blood Moon, commemorates not only the first Passover of Israel’s Exodus from Egypt, but also the Sabbath Resurrection of the Lord Jesus Christ from the dead. This speaks loudly that the ministry of Jesus Christ was designed to fulfill the OT Law, including every aspect of the Passover Lamb’s sacrifice, not only for Israel, but all mankind also. With added importance, we see the revelation for this plan of the Tabernacle of Moses foreshadowing the blueprint for the Jerusalem Temple, as the ministry of the High Priest after the order of Melchizedek is energized in Christ. We find the Biblical precedent for this in Hebrews 8;

Hebrews 8:5

Who serve unto the example and shadow of heavenly things, as Moses was admonished of God when he was about to make the tabernacle: for, See, said he, that thou make all things according to the pattern shewed to thee in the mount. [Exod. 25]

This is a key verse indicating a heavenly Jerusalem. Thus, the plan of the earthly Tabernacle and Temple is a physical model of the original Temple of God in Heaven, and the earthly city of Jerusalem is based on the Holy City of God in Heaven. God’s City below is designed to reflect the one above: The New Jerusalem, [Rev.21]. As God occupies His throne in the heavenly Temple above, so the Creator revealed Himself to His chosen people in the earthly Temple below. This also explains the celestial symbolism that God designed into Hebrew Temple and Tabernacle structure, revealing the Creator’s Intelligent Design in the beginning of the world. God planned it so in the Millennial reign of Christ, the earthly Temple would receive all people through the High Priest Jesus Christ, to be spiritually nourished by the Heavenly Father, through the mediator-Jesus Christ. [Isa. 2:2-4]In this future New Jerusalem God’s Shechinah Glory is again revealed, and a spirit of fellowship restored. Here the Kingdom of God, Creator of all, is revealed to the world, and all people will come to worship and serve Him. Here everyone may be purified of sin and can stand before God in righteousness, since Jesus has paid the debt for our sins. This future Holy Temple, embodies the relationship each Christian believer can now enjoy with the Heavenly Father through the Lord Jesus Christ, as we pour out our hearts in prayer before God, and sing before God at His altar. Here we worship, acknowledging God’s constant, ever-present and unfathomable Love. [I Cor. 3:9-23, Heb. 9:11-28]

History of Blood Moon Tetrads and Jerusalem Blood Moon images 2015 – Bing images

Over the last 2000 years the history of Blood Moon Tetrads starting with Peter’s Sermon opening the Age of Grace, [Acts 2:20] has seen a steady progression of Bible Prophecy related to Israel, being fulfilled at increasing levels. We have seen prophecies of the Jerusalem Temple’s Destruction spoken by Jesus, marked with Blood Moons fulfilled around 70 AD. We witnessed the dispersion of the Jews around the world, as we have seen the Jews return to a reformed State of Israel in 1948-1950, marked by a Blood Moon Tetrad. In 1967-68 we saw the 6-day war with Egypt, when Jerusalem was first reclaimed under Israel’s control, also marked by a Blood Moon Tetrad, all leading to the next logical step of prophecies to re-build a Third Jerusalem Temple. The rebirth of the State of Israel has given rise to hopes for a re-built Jerusalem Temple as a guiding light for the nation of Israel. This is indeed the pattern displayed when we view both world history and the Blood Moon Tetrads over the last 2000 years. With each conflict in the Middle East involving Israel, it seems they draw nearer in proximity to the Temple Mount. As this pattern of Biblical Prophecy proceeds to its inevitable conclusion, their progress will take them past the current boundary of the Western Wall. From the first days of the Temple in Jerusalem, it has been the center of the spiritual and national life of Israel. As the Temple embodied the center of royal authority for Davidic rule, so it held the seat of the High Priest, as the center of all spiritual ceremony and authority. Thus, we stand at the precipice of a crisis point in the history of the holy Land.

In the glory days of Kings David and Solomon-the building of the First Temple – transformed the holy city into the spiritual center of the world. Since the Romans destroyed the Second Temple in 70 AD, Israel has awaited the coming of the Third Temple, to fulfill the words of the Prophet Isaiah:

Isa. 2:2-3 “And it shall come to pass in the last days. that the mountain of the Lord’s house shall be established at the top of the mountains, and shall be exalted above the hills; and all of the nations shall flow unto it. And many people shall go and say, Come. and let us go up to the mountain of the Lord, to the house of the God of Jacob. and he will teach us of his ways, and we shall walk in his paths: for out of Zion shall go forth the law, and the word of God from Jerusalem.”

There are many groups working to ensure that everything needed to rebuild the Jerusalem Temple is ready when the time presents itself. For example there are Schools of the Talmud in Jerusalem teaching many students the details of Temple service. Other groups are researching the genealogy of priestly lines to perform sacrificial rites, while others are ensuring all the implements of daily worship and sacrifice are in place. Of these groups the Temple Institute, may be the most zealous.

Even as the nationof Israel under Moses crossed the Sinai, in their exodus out of the bondage of Egypt, God told them hey must :”Build me a Temple and I shall dwell amongst you.” (Exodus 25:2)As the Almighty revealed Himself to His people in the Tabernacle of Moses and the Temple at Jerusalem, it took place in the Holy of the Holies or God’s Throne-room. This is known in the Temple as the Mercy Seat which covered the Ark of the Covenant. As Hebrews 9 tells us below, the Cherubim were stationed on top of the Mercy-seat over-shadowing the throne of the Almighty, Who dwelt “between the Cherubim.” [Ex. 25:22].

And over it the cherubims of glory shadowing the mercy-seat; of which we cannot now speak particularly.So what is the link between the Total Solar Eclipse at the North Pole on Nisan 1 marking the dedication of the Tabernacle in the wilderness?As Job 22:12 says; Is not God in the height of Heaven? And behold the highest of the stars, how high are they?This Biblical imagery of the highest stars of heaven is found again in Isaiah 14, as Isaiah discusses the circumstances surrounding the Fall of Lucifer.

Isa. 14:13-14
“For you have said in your heart I will ascend into heaven
I will exalt my throne above the Star-God
I will sit on the Mount of the Congregation on the farthest sides of the North
I will ascend above the heights of the clouds
I will be like the Most High…”

As we saw above in Isa. 2, the Lord’s house or celestial Temple is located in the highest of mountain tops, even as the Temple Mount holds the earthly Temple, [Isa. 51:16]. Also God Himself is referred to as the Highest of all Stars, that Lucifer desired to exalt his throne above. Isaiah also tells us that this Mount of the Congregation is located in the highest recesses of the North, even above the celestial North Pole. As the unprecedented March 20th, Total Solar eclipse over the North Pole depicts, we find the Almighty over-shadowing all Creation from the power of His throne room in heaven, which He reveals in no uncertain terms, in the fast approaching Apocalypse.

Psalm 91:1 He that dwells in the secret place of the Most High shall abide under the Shadow of the Almighty.

As we have a front row seat to witness all the Blood Moon Tetrads and other heavenly signs and events, leading to the greatest redemption in human history, with our deliverance from the darkness and bondage of this world, we are encouraged that no earthly or spiritual power can overcome our Almighty Heavenly Father, although the deceivers will surely attempt to make us think they can!

As II Thess. 2:2-4 tells us; 2 “That ye be not soon shaken in mind, or be troubled, neither by spirit, nor by word, nor by letter as from us, as the day of Christ is at hand. 3 Let no man deceive you by any means; for that day shall not come except there come a departure first,. and the man of sin be revealed, the son of perdition. 4 Who opposes and exalts himself above all that is called God, or that is worshiped; so that he as God, sits in the Temple of God, showing himself that he is God.”

This man of sin or the Anti-Christ, will do the bidding of his father who is the devil, even as we have seen in Lucifer’s heart above. Since the Almighty is showing us so clearly in the tapestry of the stars, in concert with the written testimony of Scripture, that His un-alterable Will is indeed coming to pass before our eyes, we have no excuse to be sucked in by what any deceiver can say or do. Let us rejoice- “Hosanna in the Highest,” as the popular Easter refrain tells us, that we serve the risen Savior of the world, the only begotten of the Father, and no power exists that can prevent the truth of God’s Word from coming to pass Just as He spoke it.

Great Sphinx, Great Pyramid and Dendera Zodiac — **Biblical Archaeo-Astronomy**

The Birth and Return of Christ and the Celestial Sphinx

Eleven years ago, in a study on the Try-God.com website we proposed a thesis that the Great Sphinx was originally intended as an oracle of the promised seed and the Messiah. Both Herbert Lockyer and Frances Rolleston have stated, that the Great Sphinx symbolizes the Summer Solstice 4000 years before Christ, sealed by the union of Virgo and Leo. Rolleston notes that this junction of Virgo and Leo is marked by the star Denebola, the namemeaning “the Lord or Judge who comes quickly,”1 thus representing a living image, of the Lord Jesus Christ coming in judgment. As the star marking the unity between Virgo and Leo, the alpha and omega signs of the Biblical zodiac, this prophetic messenger of the coming Messiah has endured as the largest, and oldest colossal sculpture of renown on the planet.

This monument to the promised seed carved out of the Giza plateau, has stood for ages facing east, envisioning both the first and second advents of the Lord Jesus Christ. As the imperious sentinels of Giza, the Great Sphinx and the Great Pyramid are the foremost ancient monuments, having stood the test of time, foreshadowing the Second Coming of the Son of God as no other landmarks in human history. These great surviving wonders of the ancient world have remained singularly poised, high above the barren shifting sands of human ignorance, safely founded on prehistoric bedrock of truth, prophesying of the coming promised seed, in harmony with the witness of the Stars and Scriptures. Their combined declaration sounds out from the geographic center of the Earth’s landmass, ever ringing upward in concert with the testimony of the celestial luminaries. These monolithic monuments of the Giza plateau, the Great Pyramid and the Great Sphinx, serve as prime examples of our thesis, showing the roots of what Joseph Campbell called the world monomyth , the idea that all the world’s myths are rooted in one master overarching epic narrative. I believe as others have before me, that this master myth has celestial roots, and these roots ultimately lead us to the divine Astronomy of the Biblical Patriarchs, Adam, Seth and Enoch. The following introduction to the Great Sphinx, from a Biblical Astronomy viewpoint, will serve as important step along this path of understanding. During recent posts on our Blood Moon Blog we have surveyed the Biblical Astronomy of the heavenly signs surrounding the Birth of Jesus Christ, where a number of aspects linked to the Great Sphinx have surfaced, which are summarized in the study of The Great Sphinx @www. Try-God.com, [read more].

Our review of the heavenly signs surrounding the birth of Christ gave us an introduction to some unique aspects of the Great Sphinx, which we will expand on in this study. A consistent indicator marking the heavenly signs bearing the celestial seal and signet of the Great Sphinx, is that most of these heavenly signs occur during the 3-week annual period when the Sun is clothing Virgo, [Rev. 12:1]. This is relevant due to its symbolism of the genuine exaltation of Mary, the woman who was most highly blessed among women, because she believed the words of the archangel Gabriel when he told her she would bear the promised seed. We have made past references to the dual significance inend times
prophecy in [Rev. 12:1-2] as it relates both to the sufferings and glory of the Lord Jesus Christ, in his 2-fold ministry to present his kingship to Israel, that was rejected 2000 years ago, and now is being revisited as we complete the Blood Moon Tetrad of 2014–2015 with the heavenly signs presaging his glorious Second Coming to install his kingdom of everlasting righteousness and peace. The graphic below depicts Mary crowned with the 12 Stars/Tribes of the Hebrew Zodiac [Gen. 37: 9-11] holding the infant Jesus, with the Crescent Moon at her feet. Here Jesus embodies the Sun clothing Virgo with the Moon at her feet as seen on Sept. 11th, 3 BC in the heavenly signs marking the Birth of Jesus Christ. Modern stargazers have struggled to fit the crown of 12 stars around Virgo’s head, with the heavenly signs marking his birth and Second Coming, but as Gen. 37 tells us in Joseph’s dream, the Sun, Moon and 11 Stars bowed down to Joseph as his 11 brothers bowed at his feet in Egypt, fulfilling his dream. Both the Great Sphinx and Joseph’s Dream show the 3-fold Solar, Lunar and Stellar aspects of the Hebrew Calendar, and as we view Virgo Crowned with the 12 Stars/Signs/Tribes of the Hebrew Zodiac in the context of the Great Sphinx, the truths of the Celestial Sphinx come into focus.

In addition, the Sun in Virgo usually coincides with the annual start of the Hebrew Civil Year, opening the month of Tishri. As we have pointed out in recent Blog posts, the Feast of Trumpets opening the month of Tishri is marked by a Partial Solar Eclipse on September 13th this Fall, even as the opening of the sacred year/Nisan 1 is marked with a Total Solar Eclipse on March 20th, the Spring Equinox, followed by a Blood Moon Lunar eclipse two weeks later at Passover. Thus from the inception of the heavenly signs linked to what I have called the Celestial Sphinx, the fact that these notable heavenly signs take place on, or during Hebrew Feasts and holy days, is also a key indicator, even as it has been throughout the Age of Grace relating to the Blood Moon Tetrads, over the last 200 centuries. Another prime aspect of the heavenly signs linked to the Celestial Sphinx is that we find unique planetary conjunctions that took place marking the Birth of Jesus Christ, in the constellations Virgo and Leo. Since these are the zodiac signs that constitute the alpha-omega signs of the Hebrew Zodiac, forming the Celestial Sphinx, it provides a living practical example of Biblical Astronomy which the Great Sphinx itself memorializes. As a central example of Biblical Archaeo-Astronomy, the Great Sphinx is a true living artifact of the divine science of Biblical Astronomy that the Creator utilizes today, marking the heavenly signs of the Second Coming of His only Begotten Son. In this light, we take note of the relief from the ceiling of the Temple of Esneh;2 [Fig. C], where the basic stellar figures of Virgo and Leo are unified in the Great Sphinx, pictured with the solar disk crowning the head of the woman-“sun clothing Virgo,” who is joined with the body of the Lion, above the serpent Hydra. This clear stellar image found at the same temple site housing the Dendera zodiac, provides strong archaeological support, not for the union of Virgo and Leo only, affirmed in the two stellar aspects of the Sphinx monument, but also the exaltation of the woman-Virgo. She is pictured at the far right below, prominently holding her grain stalk, or branch [Al Zimach] as she is shown in Dendera’s zodiac, symbolizing her bearing the promised seed, the light of the world. This is a key point in the history of Biblical Archaeo-Astronomy, since the Dendera Zodiac is another central piece of archeological evidence in our Biblical Astronomy narrative. This will be the topic of future posts on our Blood Moon Blog.

This sets the basic context of the original function of the Great Sphinx, including:

The unity of the Biblical zodiac which starts at Virgo and ends in Leo, summarizing the truths of Biblical Astronomy and Archaeo-Astronomy.
The original role of the Sun in this context of “clothing Virgo,” along with embodying the solar aspects of the Sphinx as the Son of Righteousness.
A Stone monument memorializing these truths parallel witness to the Coming Redeemer found in the Stars and in Scripture.

With this in mind, lets look at some specific stellar aspects of the Great Sphinx.

Stellar Elements of the Great Sphinx

There are at least three categories of Celestial Sphinx signs. The first is in a class by itself, that we find in Figure E. Here, the head of the woman Virgo, clothed with the sun is rising above the horizon as seen from Jerusalem, with the full body of Leo the Lion, already risen. As a marker for the birth of Christ highlighting these two major components of the Great Sphinx, this sign certainly is worthy of our special attention. A second category of signs along these lines is seen also when the Sun is clothing Virgo. During this time of year, a period of about 20 days length, if planetary unions occur in both Leo and Virgo, the two stellar aspects of the Celestial Sphinx are thus highlighted. An example of this was seen in the signs surrounding the birth of Christ, from September 9th to the 14th in 3 BC. Figure E shows the first of three conjunctions of Jupiter and Regulus in Leo first visible, as the heavenly signs marking the birth of Christ took place September 11th, in Virgo. The original teaching of the witness of the signs of the zodiac is encapsulated in the zodiac signs Virgo and Leo and preserved in this ancient monument of the Giza plateau, the Great Sphinx. An interesting astronomical truth in support of this lies in the fact that the crowned head of Virgo actually bridges about 10 degrees into the sign Leo on the ecliptic. We have already made reference to this in connection with the star Denebola. The star Sarcam in Leo, is a Hebrew word meaning “the joining,“3 identifying the point where the two ends of the Zodiacal circle have their joining. This is borne out in the sign Corvus, the bird of prey devouring the sea-monster Hydra, a decan of Virgo. The bright star in the eye of Corvus the Raven, called Al Chibar in Arabic means “joining together,”4 referring also to the union of as these two ends of the true zodiac! This is pictured in Figure D. below, depicting the Hydra a major sea-dragon constellation [Isa. 27:1], with Corvus the Raven and carrion eater, shown devouring the perishing remains of the destroyed Serpent. This is the enemy’s destiny which we also find pictured in the Temple of Esneh above, with the serpent under the Lion’s claws.

This also fits with the start of the Hebrew calendar in Tishri, the equivalent of our September-October, the beginning of their civil year when the Sun was clothing Virgo. As we have seen in previous posts, the heavens announced Jesus’ arrival with the setting of the star Spica, Virgo’s branch on our September 11th, of 3 BC. In addition to naming the start and close of the celestial canon, the Great Sphinx mirrors the binding of Scripture together from Genesis to Revelation, as seen in references to Jesus as the Lion of the tribe of Judah in both Gen. 49:8-10 and Rev. 5:5, the first and last books of the Bible. Another indicator of the central importance of these stellar aspects of the Great Sphinx, is that our recognition of the Celestial Sphinx, pictured below, Virgo and Leo the lion provide the basis for the signs of the triple union of Jupiter-Regulus in Leo, in 3 BC related to Gen. 49:8-10. This is a foundational key linking the Great Sphinx both to the witness of the stars and Scriptures, in their unified testimony to the Coming promised Seed. As we view the celestial context of this first union of Jupiter and Regulus, [Fig. E] we can see the head of Virgo rising above the eastern horizon just below the full body of Leo the Lion on the ecliptic. This is the view of what an observer standing near Palestine facing east would have seen on this date, providing a clear aspect of the astronomical symbolism of the Celestial Sphinx as an important marker and monumental prediction of Jesus’ birthday on September 11th, a prophecy of the birth of Christ preserved in stone from antiquity! Thus, the Great Sphinx stands as Giza’s defiant sentinel, having weathered hundreds of centuries as a witness and messenger of both the canon of the celestial scroll of God’s Word engraved in the heavens, a prophesy of the birth of the Son of God. Always facing east, the Great Sphinx anticipates the truth of the Son-rise of the ages, whose eastern light is the long awaited dawning of a new day for all Mankind. As the subject of our last two February posts, this Eastern light through the Tabernacle is reflected spiritually in the Tabernacle/ Temple ministry that Jesus Christ fulfilled as the High Priest after the order of Melchizedek, even as we see it in the Creator’s celestial order, as the Sun travels its annual path through the 12 houses of the ecliptic, daily rising in the east. This is a theme that arises again in relation to The Celestial Symbolism of the Tabernacle and Temple of Israel, [read more] This serves as a monolithic marker to the prophecy provided in Rev. 12:1-5, in the sign of Virgo, further establishing the dual significance of this prophecy foretelling of the First and Second Advents of the Lord Jesus Christ.

We find these landmarks at the head and tail of the zodiac, which adds light to Dr. Martin’s observation that: “the woman Virgo is the Constellation of Headship for all twelve signs. The head position of Virgo is located within the last 10 degrees of Leo.” Virgo’s head is seen in Fig. D, just below and adjacent to the star Denebola in the tail of the Lion, unifying the circle of the zodiac. When viewed in context with the witness of the Great Sphinx, this sign on 9-14-3 BC takes on added meaning, indicated in the Sphinx’ two basic elements. These two elements are detailed in the movement of the King planet Jupiter entering Leo, the lion-body of the celestial Sphinx, while the Sun was in Virgo, the female head of this Sphinx. As the stars are allowed to speak in harmony with this witness in stone, the solitary guardian of the Giza plateau anticipates the dawning of a new day for mankind, as it predicts the birth of Spica, Virgo’s promised seed. Thus, the Great Sphinx and the Great Pyramid stand, as oracles, monumental prophets of both the Alpha and Omega, the first and second advents of Jesus Christ, revealing both his sufferings and glory. These stellar aspects of the Sphinx, are reinforced by the picture of the eastern horizon during the early morning hours of September 14th, at the time of the first Jupiter-Regulus union. This distinct star picture of the Head of the woman Virgo rising above the horizon, with the body of the lion above, initiating the first of 3 Jupiter-Regulus unions, aligning the prophecy of the stars with the Scriptural prophecy of Genesis 49:8-10 is definitive evidence for our thesis. This triple conjunction of Jupiter-Regulus in Leo was bracketed by the two Jupiter-Venus conjunctions also in Leo between August 31st, 3 BC and June 17th 2 BC. This June 17th, 2 BC conjunction of Jupiter and Venus the bright and Morning Star, was a most notable and attention grabbing heavenly sign marking the birth of Christ.

The major signs marking the birth of Christ on September 11th 3 BC, are not only sealed with this triple union of Jupiter-Regulus in Leo, but also by this singular Jupiter-Venus conjunction in Leo on June 17th of 2 BC. In addition the greater majority of heavenly signs marking the birth of Christ were bracketed by 2 Jupiter-Venus unions in 3 and 1 BC. The first Jupiter-Venus Conjunction marking the birth of Christ took place on August 31st 3 BC, in Leo with the last one occurring on August 21st 1 BC, in Virgo. Here we find an interesting variation on a Celestial Sphinx sign highlighting planetary conjunctions of Jupiter-Venus, that took place during the first fulfillment the Rev. 12:1-2 prophecy relating to the sufferings of Christ in his ministry as the Passover Lamb. This alerts us that we should look for similar Celestial Sphinx signs as a precursor to the Lord’s Second Coming. The fact that there were also two Venus-Mars conjunctions bracketing the central Jupiter-Venus union between March 31st, 2BC and Dec. 9th, 2BC, marking the birth of Christ, sets a precedent that we will see in similar fashion leading up to the Lord’s glorious Second Coming. In this light, it is with great interest that we discover between the two Venus-Mars conjunctions of 2015, that 3 Jupiter-Venus conjunctions will occur in Leo, followed by Jupiter-Venus conjunctions in Virgo in both 2016 and 2017.

The following dates will see Jupiter-Venus conjunctions in Leo in this Hebrew Jubilee year of 2015:

June 30th, 2015
August 25th, 2015
October 26th, 2015

The following dates below, will see Jupiter-Venus conjunctions in Virgo in 2016-2017:

July 27th, 2016
Feb. 26th, 2017
Nov. 13th, 2017

These modern heavenly signs of the Celestial Sphinx are manifesting before our eyes in the last days leading to the victorious Second Coming of the Lord Jesus Christ, informing us in no un certain terms that the end is near. As the rewind of heavenly signs of Christ Jesus’ first appearance on earth occur in the context of the present day Blood Moon Tetrad, including the upcoming Passover Blood Moon on April 4th, the celestial warnings of the Second Coming are undeniable to those with eyes to see and ears to hear… Are you ready?

The Total Solar Eclipse of March 20th, 2015

The Total Solar Eclipse on the first day of Spring later this month, on the Equinox is a key day, for both the Blood Moon Tetrad of 2014-2015, and on the Hebrew Calendar. This special day marked by a Super-moon Total Solar Eclipse falls on Nisan 1, the first day of the Hebrew Ecclesiastical year. This division of the Hebrew Jubilee year is reflected in the Fall with a Partial Solar eclipse falling on New Years, the Feast of Trumpets on 9-13-2015. These two Solar eclipses divide the Hebrew Calendar in half since this fall feast marks the start of the civil year for Israel. When we consider that 2015 is a Shemmitah year for Israel, we find a major emphasis placed on the holy days of 2015 by the Hand of the Almighty, with the capping of the Blood Moon Tetrad in 2014-2015. These two Solar eclipses falling on Hebrew feast and holy days in the Jubilee year of 2015, not only represent a perfect division of the Hebrew Calendar according to Nisan 1 and the feast of Trumpets, but also in the case of the Nisan 1 Total Solar Eclipse falling on the Spring Equinox, we see an emphasis on the division of Day and Night, because the Spring and Fall equinoxes divide the length of the day and night in half equally.

Four Blood Moons — Blood Moon Tetrad 2014-2015

The Creator God established His initial division of light from darkness on the first day, by creating the celestial bodies of the Sun, Moon and Stars ruling over the temporal world of days and nights in His Creation. This set the Creator’s Temporal order over His Creation, by spinning the heavenly bodies in their orbits God established the cycles and circadian rhythms of “days and years” ruling over the four kingdoms of life on earth, witnessing also to the celestial gospel of the coming of the redeemer of mankind-Jesus Christ, who will set the fallen Creation back in order. A key focus of this Blood Moon Blog has been the heavenly signs marking the victorious return of Christ, as seen in the Blood Moon Tetrads taking place on Hebrew feast and holy days over the last 200 centuries. The graphic above depicts another important division in the Jubilee year of 2015, dividing the Blood Moon Tetrad of 2014-2015, with a Nisan 1 Total Solar Eclipse on March 2oth. A Blood Moon Tetrad has been defined as four successive Total Lunar Eclipses, falling on Hebrew feast days, without partial lunar eclipses between them. Also each Total Lunar Eclipse is divided by six lunar months on the Hebrew Calendar. When we include the Partial Solar Eclipse on the Feast of Trumpets this fall, then we have six Hebrew feast and holy days in 2015, where “the Sun is turned into darkness and the Moon into Blood,” as Joel prophesied in [Joel 2:31].

Nisan 1/March 20th of 2015 is also unique because when the Sun sets, it marks not only the start of a new day, but also the dawning of the Sabbatical and ecclesiastical year in Israel. This key day on the Hebrew Calendar is marked by sunset which opens a special Sabbath festival between the Total Solar Eclipse and the Spring Equinox on March 20th. As we may recall from a previous post on our Blood Moon Blog; The Birthdate of Jesus Christ [read more], when opening his ministry to Israel during a Jubilee year, Jesus found the place in Isaiah’s scroll [Isa. 61:2], and he declared that time as the “acceptable year of the Lord,” in a 7-fold prophecy; (Lk. 4:18-21). Then Jesus stopped short in mid-verse, closed the book telling those present, that scripture in Isaiah was fulfilled in their ears, because the next phrase of the prophecy was still future, as it is today. The gap of time symbolized in the comma separating those two phrases, representing our current Age of Grace is rapidly nearing completion. As we are actively observing the heavenly signs associated with the Blood Moon Tetrad of 2014-2015, marking the time before the great and terrible day of the Lord, we can see that the end is near.

During the Blood Moon Tetrads of the last 200 years there have been two other Solar eclipses on Nisan 1. The first was March 30th in 70 AD, during the time when the Romans were destroying the Temple at Jerusalem. The other Solar Eclipse on Nisan 1 was March 18th, 1950, when the nation of Israel was reforming for the first time in over 2000 years. These dates are referenced in an earlier post on the “Biblical Blood Moon Calendar.” There are those watching the political developments with Israel, expecting something to happen related to the Temple Mount, where Israel regains control to be able to re-build their Temple in accordance with end times prophecy, leading to the Second Coming of the Lord Jesus Christ. His prophecy of the destruction of the Jerusalem Temple as his disciples pointed out the Temple buildings to him. But he answered them:

“You see all these, do you not? Truly, I say to you, there will not be left here one stone upon another, that will not be thrown down.” As he sat on the Mount of Olives, the disciples came to him privately, saying, “Tell us, when will this be, and what will be the sign of your coming and of the close of the age?” (Matthew 24:1-3)

Both the Temple and the City of Jerusalem were destroyed by the Roman army led by Titus the Roman General, who later to become Caesar. He began the siege of Jerusalem in April, A.D. 70. On the Hebrew Calendar it was the 2nd of Av. Also on the 10th of August, 70 A.D– the 9th of Av — in Hebrew reckoning, the same day when the King of Babylon burned the Temple in 586 B.C., the Temple was burned again. Titus took the city and put it to the torch, burning the Temple. This is one reason why these days in the month of Av are considered the saddest days of the Hebrew Calendar.

The great light of the Lord’s Second Coming will shine like none before it from the east to the west. We have seen that the Temple was also constructed on this East-West axis, and that the light of sunrise would shine into the Temple’s doors between the great brass pillars at the Temple’s entrance, known as Jachin and Boaz. When we consider the Total Solar Eclipse taking place on the Hebrew Feast day-of Nisan 1, opening the Ecclesiastical Year on the Spring Equinox, March 20th, 2015 with a partial Solar eclipse on the Feast of Trumpets, Sept. 13th, 2015 opening the civil year within a week of the Fall Equinox, we find a perfect division of the year according to these sacred days of the Hebrew Calendar, and the Almighty marking this east-west axis, as the Light of the Sun is eclipsed by the Moon on both key holy days. The truth that these heavenly signs occur during a Hebrew Jubilee Year, also opening on Nisan 1 makes it even more compelling, combined with Blood Moons on both Passover and the feast of Tabernacles, capping off the Blood Moon Tetrad in 2015. These Blood Moons of 2015 are the last ones to occur on Hebrew feast and holy days over the next 500 years. The temporal pattern of the Blood Moon Tetrads during the last 200 centuries of the Age of Grace have depicted a septenary pattern of the Feast days seen in the Hebrew Calendar, reflected also in the Hebrew Menorah; [read more].

The Biblical Astronomy of the heavenly signs leading to the Second Coming of the Lord Jesus Christ, not only follow the pattern set by the heavenly signs surrounding the birth of Christ in 3-2 BC, but they also conform to architectural structure of the Tabernacle we have already seen in the Tabernacle of Moses. The first Jupiter-Venus conjunction associated with the Blood Moon Tetrad of 2014-2015 took place in the Beehive cluster in the Sign of Cancer, the Crab on August 18th, 2014. Since there is no Hebrew word for “crab” we know this is not the original star picture for this Zodiacal Sign. There are two prominent stars in this sign called the Northern and Southern Asses linked to the Hebrew Tribe Issachar; [Gen. 49:11].1 The Beehive Star cluster or nebulae in this sign, also known as Praesepe, meaning multitude or offspring, indicates the redeemed coming into their place of eternal rest.2 There are multiple Jupiter-Venus Conjunctions set to take place in 2015, all in Leo, with additional Jupiter-Venus unions occurring in Virgo in 2016-17. The temporal progression of these planetary conjunctions perfectly matches the divine pattern of Israel’s tribal arrangement on the eastern side of the Tabernacle, clearing the way for the Triumphant Second Coming of the Lord. The brilliant and effulgent light of the Sonrise of the Ages, with the dawning of the Sun of Righteousness, will be the sunburst of the Great Day of the Lord’s Second Coming, when the Daystar arises in our hearts; [II Pet. 1:19].
