History of Biblical Astronomy — The Menorah

The Menorah

The cosmology of the Hebrew Menorah is an important topic to understand when it comes to the celestial symbolism of God’s divine prophetic plan for His Tabernacle and Temple in the Old Testament. The Menorah embodies the pattern of seven seen in the Creator’s Temporal order, beginning with the Creation Week, and extending through the pattern of seven year Sabbaths, leading to Pentecost and Hebrew Jubilee. We also find this plan in 7 Administrations, or ages of time that God set up from the beginning. The Creator spun the stars and planets in their heavenly orbits to reflect His universal pattern of growth life as seen in the phi ratio, and the Fibonacci number series to rule over the four seasons and the sacred rhythms of all life. As these stellar cycles dictate the Creator’s Temporal order in Nature, humanity can join in the flow of the Song of Creation in the circadian rhythms of life, as we grow and change through the seasons of Life. God has promised to keep these seasons turning as part of His covenant with Noah after the Great Flood, [Gen. 8:22]. The Cosmology of the
Menorah is a key aspect of the plan of the Tabernacle, depicting the heavenly order of our solar system based on the principles of the phi ratio. This comes to light mainly in Revelation 1:10-20 below, where Christ stands at its center, embodying the Sun of our solar system holding seven stars in his right hand.

God designed the plans and blueprints of the earthly Temple and Tabernacle based on the only original version of His Heavenly Temple, [Rev. 11:19]. Hebrews 9:11-12 also tells us that the heavenly Temple is the center of worship of the Creator and True God, and also where the godly angels minister to the One True God, [Ps 104:3-4]. In the graphic below we see the structure of the Tabernacle with its Outer and Inner Courts subdividing the double-square blue-print, based on the phi-ratio. The Interior of the Tabernacle was divided into two squares, the outer square was called the Holy Place, while the inner Square was a perfect cube, called the Holiest of All, containing the Ark of the Covenant. In the Holy place was found the Table of Shewbread, where its 12 loaves of Shewbread were placed, relating to the 12 tribes of Israel, symbolized in 12 precious stones of the High Priest’s Breastplate as he ministered to the nation of Israel in the Old Testament. We find this pattern mirrored in the heavens with the 12 major signs of the zodiac containing the celestial prophecies, and also in the New Testament as Christ chose 12 Apostles to minister to his church, along with the “seven angels of the seven churches.”

As we have seen in the number symbolism already pointed out in related studies, the number 120 continues to appear in key contexts. For example, the Holy Place in Solomon’s Temple had 10 Tables of Shewbread, each with 12 loaves, [10×12=120]. This is mirrored in New Jerusalem with 12 foundations of precious stones, also with the same number of 12 pearls, angels and apostles. This number symmetry is reflected in the Book of Revelation, in the New Jerusalem whose dimensions are 12,000 furlongs square, with a wall of 144 cubits, whose human residents number 144,000, [120 x 1200]. Added to the Table of Shewbread in the inner court, were the Golden Altar and the Menorah. Even as there were 10 Shewbread tables in Solomon’s Temple, so his Temple also held 10 smaller Menorah’s, each with 7 candlesticks [7×10=70 lamps], so there were 70 souls from Jacob’s loins [Ex. 1:5] multiplied as the stars of Heaven [Gen. 15:4-6, Deut. 10:22]. This number symmetry extends to the 70 elders ruling Israel, known as the Sanhedrin, and the 70 Sabbath years Jerusalem kept while Judah was in Babylon, [Jer. 35:11]. This carries to Judgement on Jerusalem of 70, 7’s completing its transgressions, to bring in everlasting righteousness, [Dan. 9:24]. This is mirrored in the NT as Jesus also chose 70 Disciples to spread his gospel, [Lk. 10:17].

God’s instructions to Moses regarding the Menorah are set in Exodus 25:

Exodus 25:31-40
31 And thou shalt make a candlestick of pure gold: of beaten work shall the candlestick be made: his shaft, and his branches, his bowls, his knops, and his flowers, shall be of the same. 32 And six branches shall come out of the sides of it; three branches of the candlestick out of the one side, and three branches of the candlestick out of the other side: 33 Three bowls made like almonds, with a knop and a flower in one branch; and three bowls made like almonds in the other branch, with a knop and a flower: so in the six branches that come out of the candlestick. 34 And in the candlestick shall be four bowls made like almonds, with their knops and their flowers. 35 And there shall be a knop under two branches of the same, and a knop under two branches of the same, and a knop under two branches of the same, according to the six branches that proceed out of the candlestick. 36 Their knops and their branches shall be of the same: all it shall be one beaten work of pure gold. 37 And thou shalt make the seven lamps thereof: and they shall light the lamps thereof, that they may give light over against it. 38 And the tongs thereof, and the snuffdishes thereof, shall be of pure gold. 39 Of a talent of pure gold shall he make it, with all these vessels. 40 And look that thou make them after their pattern, which was shewed thee in the mount.

Verse 37 indicates the purpose of the Menorah lamps, “that they may give light…’ It is noteworthy that this is the same purpose of the heavenly luminaries stated in Genesis 1:14-16. Interestingly, the word for “lights” in the firmament, [Gen. 1:14, 16: *H216-maor] is the same word used in reference to the lamps of the Menorah, (Exodus 20:27, 35:14). Moreover, the same Hebrew word referring to the Menorah’s individual lamps, also refers to the individual heavenly lights of the Sun and Moon in Gen. 1:16. So we see perfect relation between the purpose of the individual celestial cycles and the individual lamps of the candlestick, to shed light upon the Earth. The emphasis with a Sun-centered system is placed on the Light of God. God’s Light is the Source of Life on Earth, even as God is the Source of Light. The geometric structure of the Menorah reveals intricate details as we take a deeper look into the 3 Knops, 3 flowers and 3 Bowls on each of the branches off the central Menorah shaft. [Ex. 25:33] tells us of 3 bowls made like almonds, each with a Knob and Flower blossom on all 6 branches, showing [3x3x3=9] ornaments on each branch times 3 branches=27 on each side of the central Servant Branch [27×2=54], added to the 12 ornaments on the central branch [54+12=66]. Numerically this is interesting because there are 27 O.T. books in the Bible, and a total of 66 books in the entire Bible. Since the Bible embodies all Scriptural light for Mankind, as a lamp unto our feet, [Ps. 119:105] it is a fitting truth. These numbers appear again related to certain heavenly cycles below, also mirrored in the 9 full series of colored curtains of Cherubim, each of 27 cubits on the Tabernacle’s internal walls. It is interesting to note an correlation of these numbers to the internal and external measurements of the Tabernacle. The internal measures were 12 cubits wide by 29.5 cubits long. This links to the Luni-Solar cycle of 12 lunar months, with a 29.5308-day, lunar synodic month, [29 43/81 days]. The Tabernacle’s external measures were 30 cubits long by 12 1/3 cubits wide. The 12 1/3 cubits translates to 12.368 lunar synodic months per solar year [12 7/19] harmonizing with the luni-solar cycle 12/30 day months according to the Phi ratio, over the 50-year Jubilee period.

Revelation 1:10-20
10 I was in the Spirit on the Lord’s day, and heard behind me a great voice, as of a trumpet, 11 Saying, I am Alpha and Omega, the first and the last: and, What you see, write in a book, and send it to the seven churches which are in Asia; to Ephesus, and Smyrna, and Pergamos, and Thyatira, and Sardis, and Philadelphia, and unto Laodicea. 12 And I turned to see the voice that spake with me. And being turned, I saw seven golden candlesticks; 13 And in the midst of the seven candlesticks one like the Son of man, clothed with a garment down to the foot, and girt about the paps with a golden girdle. 14 His head and his hairs were white like wool, as white as snow; and his eyes were as a flame of fire; 15 And his feet like unto fine brass, as if they burned in a furnace; and his voice as the sound of many waters. 16 And he had in his right hand seven stars: and out of his mouth went a sharp twoedged sword: and his countenance was as the sun shineth in his strength. 17 And when I saw him, I fell at his feet as dead. And he laid his right hand upon me, saying unto me, Fear not; I am the first and the last: 18 I am he that liveth, and was dead; and, behold, I am alive for evermore, Amen; and have the keys of hell and of death. 19 Write the things which thou hast seen, and the things which are, and the things which shall be hereafter; 20 The mystery of the seven stars which thou sawest in my right hand, and the seven golden candlesticks. The seven stars are the angels of the seven churches: and the seven candlesticks which thou sawest are the seven churches.

Verses 12-16 above relate the description of the “Son of Man” as the one in the midst of the seven golden candlesticks, shining as the Sun in his strength, [v.16]. This identifies the Sun, personified in Jesus Christ, [Mal. 4:2] holding seven stars, shining in the center of the seven branches of the candlestick. These seven heavenly luminaries are associated with the angels of the seven churches in Rev. 1:20. Here God’s Word draws a direct comparison, first, between the Sun in the center of the Candlestick, embodied in Jesus Christ. This sets the context wherein we can understand the symbolism of the other branches of the Menorah. Secondly, the angels of the seven churches are embodied in Seven Stars held in Jesus Christ’s right hand. At this point, we should notice the mythological roots of planetary symbolism, how the planets Mercury–Gabriel, Mars-Michael, Saturn-Satan and the Sun and light of the world–Jesus Christ, also called the Covenant Angel named Wonderful, [Judg 13:18], are linked with these stars.

In Revelation 10:16 the word for “stars” in reference to the seven stars held in Jesus’ right hand in the Greek is the word “aster“ [*G792]. This word is used in reference to both angels and to heavenly bodies whether fixed or wandering stars, like the planet Jupiter [Matt. 2:2, 7, 9 & 10]. Matt. 2:2 is especially interesting in this light because here the Magi address the first question of the New Testament; “Where is he that is born King of the Jews? For we have seen his star in the east and are come to worship him.”

As we have seen, Jupiter is proven as the star of the Messiah, and as the King planet, it is prominently mentioned by the Magi as identifying Jesus as the King of the Jews. Another Biblical title of the Messiah correlating to a stellar identity, is Jesus as the Morning Star, (Rev. 2:28, 22:16). This relates to the planet Venus, seen in it’s morning and evening star appearances. This title of the Morning Star only occurs one other place in God’s Word, (Isa. 14:12), in reference to Lucifer, while still in his angelic first estate. As the 1st bright and Morning Star, Lucifer was second only to God in authority, but his dominion over the angelic realm was stripped from him when iniquity was found in him, in his attempted coup’ in heaven. Christ has superseded him as the new Morning Star, and Lucifer’s former authority over the archangels Michael and Gabriel was transferred to Christ, who is seated at the right hand of the Father. Since Christ Jesus supersedes Lucifer’s original ministry as the Bright and Morning Star, the planet Venus symbolizes both an angelic and spiritual dominion as the “Covenant Angel named Wonderful,” [Judges 13:18]. This Covenant Angel whose name was not revealed, but kept secret at that point in the Old Testament, because as part of the mystery of Jesus’ future angelic dominion, had the princes of this world, or the operatives of the fallen Satan gotten wind of it, they never would have crucified the Lord of Glory, (I Cor. 2:8). This Hebrew word for “wonderful” [*H6382] also appears in the famous prophecy of Christ in Isaiah 9:6, describing him as a wonderful or miraculous Counselor. Those who follow his counsel will partake in the supernatural signs and wonders that are produced from belief in his Words. Even the Scribes and Pharisees called him Rabbi, [Jn. 6:25] so God’s Word recognizes Christ as a Marvelous Teacher, even as the Archangel Gabriel is named when delivering God’s messages unto men.

It is thus interesting that heavenly signs involving the planet Venus are included in the signs leading up to the Blood Moon Tetrad 0f 2014-2015. A Venus transit and a Total Solar eclipse, took place in 2012, as these events were prophesied in Mayan Astrology. On the 5th & 6th of June 2012, there was a Venus transit, along with a Solar eclipse on the eve of November 13th, both important dates on the Tzolkin Calendar of the Maya, foretelling these events over a 1000 years ago! This Solar Eclipse was one of two triads of Solar eclipses framing the Blood Moon Tetrad of 2014-2015, as singular heavenly beacons and signposts marking this Blood Moon Tetrad with particular emphasis. Venus transits many times occur in pairs, eight years apart. The last one happened in 2004, paired with the recent one in 2012, which appeared between the horns of Taurus, the Bull. Biblically, Taurus symbolizes the lord returning in judgment on mankind with his horns set to pierce and destroy his enemies. This marked the Mayan Acopcalypse, which as we all know did not happen exactly the way they predicted. It is however, instructive to realize what really goes on with a Venus Transit, since we won’t be seeing another one for quite a while. The graphic below depicts an example of the phi ratio geometry manifested in the fibonacci number series as it relates to Venus Transits, and the celestial dynamics of our solar system.

In the Almighty’s Intelligent Design of Creation, examples of golden section Symmetry embodied in phi ratio patterns abound in our solar system. They are God’s geometric finger prints indicating the pattern of natural growth-life, which only God can originate as the True Source of all living things. The Earth-the garden home of Man, abounds with examples of phi Symmetry in all Four Kingdoms of life. A beautiful illustration of this is found first in a comparison of Venus-Earth orbits. The 2 planets orbit the Sun in a phi ratio, harmony, depicted above in a geometic pentagonal pattern. Since their mean orbital distances link to [1+1/phi²]:1.⁵The phi ratio relationship is also found in Venus’ closest and furthest distances from the Earth, defined as [phi⁴ :1] to 99.99% accuracy, which are depicted as two 5-pointed stars, one within the other!⁶Also when the 5 triangles associated with these stars are nested together, we find Golden Spirals emerging, as seen in the nautilus spirals at the center of galactic swirls millions of light years in diameter, forming the pattern of numerous spiral galaxies. Additionally, Venus forms a beautiful 5-petalled flower around the Earth every 8 years, equivalent to 13 Venus years, revealing the Fibonacci series [5:8:13] based on the phi ratio, ordering Space-Time planetary orbits in our solar system.⁷ This five-pointed star whose segments relate to phi, are also found in Nature for example in the center of an apple. Only the Creator’s Hand working in His handiworks can account for this symmetric beauty underlying all Creation, since “random chance” most assuredly cannot.

The actual celestial scene referred to in the Mayan doomsday astrology is pictured below on 12/21/2012. Our view as we take an approach from Biblical Astronomy provides the wisdom of God’s Word applied to the message of the heavens, leading up to the Blood Moon Tetrad of 2014-2015. This sets a general context of the victorious return of Jesus Christ as prophesied by the Blood Moons and Solar eclipses referenced by the Prophet Joel.

Ophiuchus’ battle versus his enemy is pictured in this Constellation group as Scorpio and Serpens. This gives us an example of taking a composite view to glean the truth from these celestial signs. Man’s struggle for dominion against the serpent is highlighted by the temporary wound the serpent inflicts on him, as shown by the scorpion’s stinging of his heel [Gen. 3:15]. The star picture of this initial prophecy of the promised seed cannot be fully grasped, unless we take a composite view of this celestial scene [Ophiuchus, Serpens, Corona Sagittarius & Scorpius]. The same can be said of the four serpents in the sky, where the function and mode of operation of the evil one is concerned. A Biblical view of these celestial signs focused on the galactic center of the Milky Way Galaxy, is best understood as a representation of Genesis 3:15.

The graphic below from the Voyager¹⁷Astronomy program depicts the sky on this predicted date for the end of the world, based on the Mayan Astrology. The primary components of the scene are Sagittarius, embodying the returning Lord Jesus Christ, riding his flying white steed in ultimate victory in the spiritual warfare against the dragon and his brood, represented by Scorpius the scorpion. The Sun is centered at the tip of Sagittaruis” arrow which is aimed at the red star Antares, the heart of the Scorpion, as its being crushed from above by the foot of Ophiuchus, revealing the light of the world shining his inescapable light on the kingdom of darkness, totally exposing the evil works of the enemy while conquering and laying waste to them all.

Bruising the enemy's head — The Second Coming of Christ

As The Sun of God arises here with healing in his wings, the light of the world is pictured at the heel of Ophiuchus. This is the heel wound inflicted by the Scorpion, but his sacrificial death was not only temporary, but also the most liberating act mankind has ever experienced, since it was this singular sacrifice of Christ, that freed all mankind from the slavery and tyranny of the Adversary. This loving sacrifice that fulfilled the Father’s masterplan to redeem mankind, was faithfully and obediently carried out by Jesus Christ, resulting in the
deadly wound he inflicts on the serpent. This image of Jesus as the great healer of all our wounds, as he delivers us with his perfect sacrifice, that only he could offer as the innocent blood and perfect man, is the ideal image to broadcast on the celestial showcase, leading up to the crescendo of the Victorious Second Coming of our Conquering Lord and Savior. As the Bible tells us in Joel 2:31 these celestial signs of the Blood Moon and Solar eclipses will occur before this great and notable day of the Lord comes to pass…

As we uncover the spiritual context of the celestial signs surrounding the prophecies of Joel, we are awakened to some of the deeper truths surrounding the Blood Moon Tetrad of 2014-2015. Taken in the context of the series of Blood Moon Tetrads over the last 2000 years in ther history of Israel, we cannot help but notice a pattern emerging for those who have eyes to see and ears to hear and discern the signs of the end of days, leading to the victorious return of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.

Biblical Blood Moon Calendar

The events presented in this study of the Biblical Blood Moon Calendar, reflect a unity of celestial events in the history of Israel on key feasts and holy days of Israel’s sacred calendar. As we research these celestial signs, namely the Blood Moon Tetrads and other solar and lunar eclipses over the last 2000 years, we gain a deeper understanding of the prophecies leading to the end of days and the victorious return of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. It helps to have some perspective on how the Almighty Creator embodied the order of His celestial symbolism in the structure and sacred blueprints and patterns of the Temple and Tabernacle of Israel. The numbers that highlight the Jubilee cycle [Levi. 25:4,8] are a combination of seven, twelve and fifty, at the core of God’s division of Space-Time in the cycles of day and night. We can see the roots of His “sacred geometry” in the famous 3-4-5 triangle, popularized in the ancient world by the Pythagoreans, but applied long before them by Elohim, the Creator & “Great Geometer,” as the Pythagoreans called Him. The affinity between the numbers seven and twelve is found in this unique triangle because the sum of 3 + 4 gives the number of days in the Week of Creation, the blueprint of all seven-day weeks to follow. It also numbers the 7 spiritual administrations and the Sabbatical years in the Godly temporal order. The sum of 3+4+5 gives us the number of 12 Months in a year, relating to the signs of the zodiac and the 12 tribes of Israel. The sum of it’s square’s gives us the number fifty related to Pentecost and the Hebrew Jubilee. As we multiply 3 x 4 x 5 it equals the base 60 number standard underlying the precession of the equinoxes, ordering all Space-Time in Creation. The graphic below shows the relation of the 3-4-5 triangle to the double square rectangle as a basis of the Hebrew Temple & Tabernacle, as seen below, with these exact dimensions also being found in the Kings Chamber of the Great Pyramid.

The double-square rectangle, in Fig. ii below, corresponds to the basic ground-plan for the O.T. Tabernacle incorporating the phi ratio, or golden section, also containing the 3-4-5 triangle, as a basic geometric symbol of the Creator’s life-giving power. The phi ratio is a ruling principle of growth, in all God’s kingdoms of terrestrial life. Phi governs growth-life, dictating the standard of the rate of change, as life-forms transition from one stage of growth to the next in time. God is too big for us to grasp in the unity of His totality, so he made it easier for us, His created beings to relate to Him by the way He ordered His creation. We can get a sense of Who He is by studying the manifestation of the microcosm in the Natural order of the Heavens and Earth. The perfect ratio of the golden section gives us an ideal perspective to understand the nature and beauty of the Creator’s Light, through the life of Christ, the Light of the World. As Phi is the governing principle, (auxano) of both the microcosm, ruling over the growth of terrestrial life, so it also rules over the macrocosm, providing the basis for example, of the musical harmony in the celestial order of the planets of our solar system, evident in germinal form in Bodes Law, and Kepler’s Laws of Planetary Motion. The same phi ratio that rules the Heavenly order is also evident in spiral form of galaxies and other aspects of the celestial order, [Romans 8:19-23].

Exodus 26 denotes in verses 15-30 a description of wooden boards constituting the Tabernacle’s Inner Court structure. This wooden framework was assembled from 48 boards, eachten cubits high, and 1.5 cubits wide... This mirrors the structure of the 12 zodiacal signs/12 months, including their 36 decans (12+36=48), divided into ten degree decans. This shows not only an evident celestial plan, but also marks the Tabernacle as the focal point of the celestial and spiritual light of God’s presence on Earth during the early Old Testament Law period. As the 12 signs of the Hebrew zodiac embody the structure of Israel’s temporal order (12 x 4=48), with each tribe symbolizing one of the 12 sons of Jacob, whom God renamed Israel, after his spiritual inheritance, so we expect to see this symmetrical pattern in other aspects of the Creator’s Intelligent Design of Creation. One example is found in the Tabernacle’s order of Priests, also instituted in the Temple by Kings David and Solomon, 480 (12 x 40 or 120 x 4) years after the Exodus in 1446 BC. These two greatest Kings of Israel, each reigned 40 years, and Solomon began building the Temple in the 4th year of his reign, the 480th year following the Exodus of Israel, [I Kgs. 6:1]. This 480-year period allows 12 x 40-year generations, a generation for each of Israel’s 12 tribes, which Moses lead through the wilderness for 40 years, during the third 40-year segment of his life (40 x 3=120).

One hundred-twenty shows up in other key areas which should arrest our attention. For example, there were 120 ropes holding up 60 wooden pillars of the Tabernacle, even as Noah built the Ark in 120 years, [Gen. 6:3]. Also Moses’ life span was 120 years [Deut. 34:7]. [II Chron. 5:11-14] shows 120 priests blowing silver trumps unified with the Israelites in their praise of God, resulting in God filling the House with the cloud of His presence. [Acts 1:15] also shows 120 believers in the Temple on the Day of Pentecost, [I Cor. 3:15-16]. This reflects the same base 60 number pattern seen in Noah’s Calendar of 360-days, (120 x 3 =360).[read more].

The blue-print and sacred pattern of the priestly order of service, instituted in the Temple, reflects 24 courses of priests; [12x2] each serving twice during the sacred Hebrew calendar year, totaling 48 weeks. When the three weeks of Passover, Pentecost and Feast of Tabernacles are included, wherein all the priests served, we have the 51 weeks of Israel’s luni-solar calendar, divided according to the sacred and civil services.¹

The sacred year began in Nisan with the spring Passover, and the civil year in the fall, started with the first of Tishri, the Day of Trumpets, signaling the onset of the holiest 7th month. The separate weeks of this luni-solar year were ordered according to the 7 -year sabbaticals summarized in the 50-year cycle of Hebrew Jubilees, as we have previously seen, in the unity of the Luni-solar cycles according to the Symmetry of the phi ratio. We can see hints of this temporal order based on the number 50, in the 50 loops and taches coupling the Tabernacle’s curtains together, making it one tabernacle. [Exod 26: 5-6, 10-11]. As we witness unity in the Tabernacle’s coupling of its curtains through 50 loops, fastened to the 48 wooden planks of the Inner Court walls, so the unity of the celestial cycles of the two great lights of the Sun and Moon, is summarized in the 50 year Jubilee. This 50-year sacred cycle epitomized the ideal unity of the divine temporal order, embodies numerous details of the Tabernacle’s structure, which we have only listed a few here.

Since the Moonlight is only the reflected light of the Sun, the unity of the luni-solar cycle shedding their combined light on the Earth, fulfills God’s purpose for the celestial bodies delineated in Gen. 1:14-16. In the brief summary above, a basis is laid to better understand Israel’s feasts and holy days in light of their symbolism in the structure of the Temple and Tabernacle. This provides an important contextual understanding for the Blood Moon Chart that follows. The Chart below reflects 9 Biblical Blood Moon Tetrads as they relate to key events in the History of Israel over nearly the last 2000 years. It is interesting to note that some of these key dates are repeated where these celestial signs have occurred. We have noted dates where Solar or Lunar eclipses took place within a day of Hebrew Feasts and Holy days in the years of Blood Moon Tetrads. The only exception to this are the Solar and Lunar eclipses that happened from 69-71 AD, marking the Roman’s destruction of the Jerusalem Temple, which were not Blood Moons, but other types of eclipses that took place on Hebrew Feasts and Holy Days. This provides a historical summary of Blood Moon Tetrads as they are linked with critical dates in the history of Israel, leading up to end times and the current day as we are experiencing the last Blood Moon Tetrad that will take place, linked with Hebrew Feast and holy days over the next 500 years. God knew in His infinite and eternal wisdom that these celestial signs would shed light on the events leading to the apocalypse, so that His faithful followers would be ready for the Second Coming of His only begotten Son Jesus Christ.

Repeat Dates of the celestial signs on the Blood Moon Calendar

From April 14th-15th we find a 2 Passover Blood Moons in 32 and 2014, along with a Passover Penumbral Lunar Eclipse in 70 AD. In 2014 as in 70 AD the Jews were at war.

From October 7th-8th we find 3 Sukkot/Tabernacle Feast Blood Moons in 32 AD, 1949 and 2014, along with a Penumbral lunar eclipse on the Feast of Tabernacles/Sukkot in 70 AD. In 1949 Israel fought for and won their independence as a state, as in 2014 they are currently fighting Hamas.

From September 12th-13th we find a Blood Moon on Yom Kippur in 843, and a Partial Solar Eclipse on the Feast of Trumpets in 2015.

On October 18th we see a Partial lunar eclipse in 69 AD, and a Blood Moon in 1967, both on the Feast of Tabernacles/Sukkot. During both years the Jews were at war.

On March 30th we see a Rosh Hashanah Total Solar eclipse in 70 AD, and a Passover Blood Moon in 861.

On October 3rd, we see Yom Kippur Blood Moons in 795 and 860. In both years, the Islamic hordes are dealt key defeats on the battlefield preventing their advance in Europe.

Of these above eclipses showing common dates, only 3 occur on the same Hebrew Feast or Holy day.
Both eclipses from October 7th-8th and those falling on October 18th, are all on the Feast of Tabernacles. Also both Blood Moon eclipses on October 3rd fall on Yom Kippur.

It is noteworthy to point out the similarity in Passover Blood Moons that occurred on 4/13/68 and 4/15/2014. The 1968 Passover Blood Moon was part of a Blood Moon Tetrad that was completed in this Sabbatical Year, on Israel’s sacred calendar. The 2014 Passover Blood Moon initiates a Blood Moon Tetrad, concluding in the Israel’s Jubilee Year of 2015, the summation of 7 Sabbatical cycles in the 50th year. The similarity however does not stop here. According to NASA, Mars which is only a week past its closest point to the Earth; [opposition] was 9 degrees NW of the Blood Moon in Virgo, which is very close to the celestial scenario on 4/13/1968, also in Virgo. With the Red Planet Mars this bright in the sky, it rivals the Blood Moon in Virgo, and as we consider the symbolism of Mars in Biblical Astronomy, this gets even more interesting. In Biblical Astronomy, Mars embodies Michael the Warrior Archangel who fights for God’s people, so we see Mars coming to Israel’s [Virgo] aid in a time of crisis or war. Throughout the OT, God Almighty used Israel as an example of His Power, Grace and Love as He delivers them from their enemies. We saw this in the Blood Moon Tetrads of 1949-50 and 1967-1968, in Israel’s Battles for statehood, and as they regained control of Jerusalem for the first time in nearly 2000 years.

The following observations from NASA relating to the 4/15/2014 Passover Blood Moon are noteworthy; “Spica (m = +1.05) is the most conspicuous star lying just 2° west of the eclipsed Moon. This juxtaposition reminds the author of total lunar eclipse of 1968 Apr 13 when Spica appeared only 1.3° SW of the Moon at mid-totality. The brilliant blue color of Spica is a striking contrast with the crimson Moon. Just a week past opposition, Mars (m = -1.4) appears 2 magnitudes brighter than Spica lying 9.5° northwest of the Moon. Arcturus (m = +0.15) is 32° to the north, Saturn (m = +0.2) is 26° to the east, and Antares (m = +1.07) is 44° to the southeast.”2

In Biblical Astronomy Spica is a very important star to understand. As the brightest star in Virgo, Spica, or as it is known in the Hebrew zodiac, “Al Zemach,” means- “the branch” in reference to Christ as the branch or offspring of God the Father. The Four Gospels indicate the 4 ministries of Christ: as seen in this Hebrew word “zemach”-branch. This word is used 12 times in the OT, but these four usages delineate the 4D Ministry of the Messiah, Jehovah’s Branch, each set forth in the Four Gospels.

1. Matt.-King of Righteousness [“Kingdom” referred to in Matthew more than anywhere else] [*Zech. 9:9, Jer. 23:5-6, 33:15] Thus the royal genealogy is in Matt. 1:1-17]. “Kingdom of Heaven” is only in Matthew, none of the other gospels.

2. Mark–Servant of Jehovah [“Lord” 3 times here, 78 times in the other 3 gospels] [Isa. 42:1, Zech. 3:8] Thus No genealogy is given in Mark.

3. Luke– Son of Man [Luke records his childhood, his dealings with women, publicans and other key aspects showing his humanity] [Zech. 6:12, thus the human genealogy is given going back to Adam, (Lk. 3:23-38)]

4. John– Son of God [Zech. 4:2][“father”-121 times, only 66 times in the other 3 gospels. “My Father”-35 times only 18 times in the other 3 gospels, “only begotten” 4 times, none in other gospels]. The purpose of every chapter in John’s Gospel reveals Christ’s true identity.

Thus, when we grasp how God’s Word employs the usage of Spica, the zemach branch, the complete 4D ministry of Jesus Christ unfolds for us. Spica in Virgo is also prominent in the celestial signs marking the birth of Christ, uniquely linked to the planet Jupiter. As seen @Try-God.com, the celestial mechanics starting Jupiter’s triple crowning of Regulus; its annual retrograde motion guided Jupiter’s stand still in the heavens for about six days near the ecliptic–Meridian crossing, mid-body in Virgo. This occurred in the celebration week of the Feast of Dedication in December of 2 BC. Also recall the kinship between the cycles of the Sun and Jupiter, and that it was the Sun mid-bodied, “clothing” Virgo for the 20-day period, from August 27th to September 15th, as one of the celestial prophecies marking the birth of the promised seed-Jesus Christ.

A noteworthy point here is Jupiter standing still in the heavens for about six days during the Hanukkah celebration, near the intersection of the ecliptic and the Meridian in Virgo. This emphasizes the path of Jupiter intersecting the ecliptic; the path of the Sun, pointing out a celestial kinship between Jupiter and the Sun, not to mention their kindred symbolism as the light of the world and the king planet. Earnest Martin states that: … while Jupiter was in its “standing still” position in retrograde motion over Bethlehem, the Sun was also “standing still.” All know that Dec. 25th is the usual period of the Winter Solstice. The word Solstice means “Sun stands still.” These stationary coincidences of Jupiter and the Sun are quite related, and would have appeared significant… ³

Malachi 4:2 But unto you that fear my name shall the Sun of righteousness arise with healing in his wings; and ye shall go forth, and grow up as calves of the stall.

The word “arise” in verse 2, is not only used of the Sun and light generally, but it occurs with two of it’s derivatives in Isaiah 60:1-3, Jer. 23:5. As we have seen regarding Jer. 23:5, the sedeq planet Jupiter, is linked with the Messiah, Jesus Christ the righteous zemach-branch, and is one of five primary Old Testament prophecies pertaining to the Branch, the coming promised seed. However, with hese stationary reflections of Jupiter and the Sun, we have an additional Messianic-solar association. The reference of “arise” above, is intriguing when considered not only from the aspect of Jupiter standing still, in Virgo, but also referring to the setting time of the star Spica in Virgo, bearing the Hebrew star name “Al Zemach.” Thus it serves as a unique celestial marker of the moment of Christ’s birth, following on the heels of Sunset, with the Sun clothing Virgo, and the Moon at her feet, in the first moments of Tishri 1, [Sept. 11th, Annivesary of Creation] 3BC. Virgo provides the setting for both Jupiter standing still on the Meridian over Bethlehem, the birth-place of Jesus Christ, and the star-set of Spica between the Sun & Moon refering to the birth-time of Jesus Christ, at the beginning of New Year’s day, Tishri 1, on the sacred calendar of Israel. Even as these celestial signs that marked the birth of Christ were prominent to the Magi, so we have identified a set of similar signs following the Blood Moon Tetrad of 2014-2015, that may mark the return of Christ in the same way.

We have already considered the relationship between the Sun and the sedeq planet Jupiter apparent above, in light of the celestial kinship between these two heavenly bodies. Even as Jupiter stood still in retrograde motion in Virgo marking Christ’s birth, so we may also see it in retrograde motion in Virgo marking his victorious Second Coming! The Messianic-solar relationship is seen not only in Malachi 4:2 above, but also in Revelation 21, where Jesus Christ returns as King of Kings and Lord of Lords.

Rev 21:22-23 And I saw no temple therein: for the Lord God Almighty and the Lamb are the temple of it. [23] And the city had no need of the sun, neither of the moon, to shine in it: for the glory of God did lighten it, and the Lamb is the light thereof.

As the manifested glory of God on the level of the senses, Jesus Christ the only begotten Son of God, the light of the world, will illuminate the City of Righteousness, the New Jerusalem with his unified four dimensional ministry as the capstone and chief corner stone of the body of Christ. There will be no need of a Temple at that time, because even as the Magi were coming to pay respect to, or worship, the young King of the Judeans, in 2 BC, so will all Earth’s inhabitants in that day, for every knee shall bow and every tongue shall confess to him, who is the head of the Church, the true Temple.

Have you noticed all the headlines about “Blood Moons” in the News lately? Everyone seems to be wondering when the next Blood Moon is?

It might help if we knew what a Blood Moon actually is, and why its getting so much attention. A Blood Moon is associated with a type of Lunar eclipse, but attention has been focused on the Moon turning to Blood ever since it was prophesied in the Book of Joel, as this prophet of God gave this Bible Blood Moon prophecy by divine revelation;

[Joel 2:28-32] v. 31…the sun shall be turned into darkness and the moon into blood before that great and terrible day of the Lord come.

This provides a foundation reference for Blood Moon Prophecies in the Bible. There are four blood moons scheduled in 2014 and 2015 that align with Hebrew holy days in the Spring and Fall of the next 2 years. This has been called a “Blood Moon Tetrad,” and has consistently been associated with key events related to Israel in history. The Four Blood Moons are certainly grabbing headlines lately, but we should also remember the Sun being mentioned, as turning into darkness, referring to a solar eclipse, in the first part of Joel’s prophecy. As we can see in the graphic above, the Total Solar Eclipse is central in the midst of four Blood Moons in 2014 and 2015! This should get our full and undivided attention, especially since Blood Moon Tetrads are very rarely associated with a Total Solar Eclipse in the last 2000 years, in view of the celestial signs on Holy Feast days of Israel’s calendar. The fact that Blood Moons are tied to Lunar Eclipses is not that big a deal in itself, but what has captured the public’s imagination is that these blood moons are happening on the feast & holy days of Israel’s sacred Calendar. Also, the fact that this is the final Blood Moon Tetrad occurring on Hebrew Feast and Holy days in the 21st Century has also caused people to sit up and take notice. As a result, the Blood Moon prophecies in the news have gotten a lot of attention recently.

The interest in Blood Moons has centered around their association with the Hebrew Calendar, since historically Israel has always counted the start of the months of their year based on the sighting of the New Moon, [read more]. Due to this, the naysayers will tell us that the Blood Moon prophecies “mean nothing,” which is what naysayers do… But it is hard to ignore the fact that Blood Moons have also been an indicator that something important was about to occur relating to Israel as a nation. For example in recent memory, there was a Blood Moon Tetrad in 1949-1950, which occurred when Israel was reborn as a Nation. There was another Blood Moon Tetrad in 1967-1968, marking their 6-day War with Egypt, when Israel regained control of Jerusalem. This was also the last time a Total Solar eclipse occurred during four Blood Moons on Hebrew
Feast days. The 1492 Blood Moon Tetrad, that occurred just prior to the 1967 Blood Moons, in this Blood Moon Tetrad series, was also key in Israel’s history, since it marked the Jews being expelled from Spain, during the Spanish Inquisition.

A primary key in understanding these Blood Moon prophecies in the Bible is not listening to the naysayers, but to what the truth of God’s Word reveals to us. One of these keys is found in the immediate context of Joel’s Blood Moon prophecy in [Joel 2:28-29];

“And it shall come to pass afterward, that I will pour out My Spirit upon all flesh; and your sons and your daughters shall prophesy, your old men shall dream dreams, your young men will see visions, and also upon the servants and upon the handmaids in those days will I pour out my spirit...”

Here Joel’s Blood Moon prophecy refers to a time when God’s gift of holy spirit is available to all who believe, which was not the case in the Old Testament, but only became available on the Day of Pentecost following Jesus’ Resurrection and Ascension to the Right Hand of the Heavenly Father. This opened up a new Spiritual Age; the Age of Grace when, as Jesus told us, the Comforter [Jn. 16:7] could not come unless and until Jesus left to be with the Father. The Comforter of course, is God’s gift of holy spirit, which is given to all who believe in their heart, and confess with their mouths that Jesus Christ is Lord, [Rom. 10:9-10]. As we link the holy Hebrew Feasts with key events related to the first coming Jesus Christ, we will start to notice a pattern developing. For example, Christ was crucified at the Spring Passover Feast the 14th of Nisan, 28 AD, buried during the Feast of Unleavened Bread, on the 15th of Nisan, resurrected at the Feast of First Fruits, on the 17th of Nisan.

The next important date where the Blood Moon prophecy appears in the Bible just happens to be on the Day of Pentecost, the birthday of the Church, in the third month following Jesus’ resurrection in 28 AD, when first, the 12 Apostles spoke in tongues, showing evidence of their new spiritual rebirth, followed on the same day by over 3000 new believers showing the same evidence. As the Apostle Peter addressed the Pentecost Temple crowd in Acts 2:14-ff, he quoted this Blood Moon prophecy from Joel 2! It is important to realize that this Blood Moon prophecy is uniquely associated with the Biblical Age of Grace, which Peter calls the “last days” [Acts 2:17], beginning in 28 AD, wherein we still reside today. It is critical that the Apostle Peter himself quotes this key prophecy in the opening fanfare of his Pentecost address, not only to the 3000 new believers and the rest of the crowd that day, but to all Christian believers since that day, who share in the spiritual gift that God continues to pour out upon his people. A few years later, the first Blood Moon Tetrad in the Age of Grace occurred in 32-33 AD. This started a series of at least 9 Blood Moon Tetrads over a 2000 year period from 32-33 AD to 2032-2033 AD!! Thus we should pay attention to what is happening with Israel in the news during the current Blood Moon signs, and when the next Blood Moon sign is set to occur, just as their appearance has held great import for Israel over the last 2000 years! As the graphic below depicts, Blood Moons/lunar eclipses have historically been a negative omen for Israel, usually indicative of the bloodshed associated with war, as the Talmud teaches. Solar eclipses on the other hand, have been held as bad omens for the Gentile nations.

These Blood Moon signs as Joel foretold, are to occur before that great and notable Day of the Lord, which is the Day Christ will return in triumphal victory over the evil darkness of this world, bringing the believers of his spiritual body-his Church with him in the final defeat of the enemy. This is the second phase of the Lord’s return, preceded by our Gathering together unto him [I Thess. 4:13-18, II Thess. 2:1]. We all anticipate this day as it is our Great Hope, the Hope of his return in ultimate deliverance from the shackles of this world, which will effectively wrap up the Age of Grace, as the Lord gathers his Church together, ushering in the Revelation
Administration. As we pay heed to the next Blood Moons and activities involving Israel, with unquenchable believing do his work, that Christ has called each believer to accomplish in his stead, until the dawning of that Great Day, we will truly show our love for the returning Lord! As the Gospel of Luke tells us;

24 “And they shall fall by the edge of the sword, and shall be led away captive into all nations: and Jerusalem shall be trodden down of the Gentiles until the times of the Gentiles be fulfilled. 25 And there shall be signs in the sun, and in the moon, and in the stars: and upon the earth distress of nations,with perplexity, the sea and the waves roaring; 26 Men’s hearts failing them for fear, and for lo0king after those things which are coming on the earth: for the powers of heaven shall be shaken. 27 And then shall they see the Son of man coming in a cloud with power and great glory. 28 And when these things begin to come to pass, then look up, lift up your heads for your redemption draws nigh.”

As the Creator of the Heavens and Earth, it was Almighty God Who originally set the order and significance of these blood moons, coordinated with the Feast days of the Hebrew Calendar, when He spun the celestial bodies in their orbits in the Sky, [read more]. For those with eyes to see and ears to hear, we can discern the signs of the times in preparation for the victorious return of Christ for his saints.

The controversy surrounding the “Star of Bethlehem” has been a hot topic of conversation annually around the Christmas season, for a long time. There are those who don’t believe that there was any special prelude of celestial signs marking the birth of Christ, as it was clearly spoken of in the Gospels of Matthew and Luke.
